Here is a better pic of Bas Relief. I know some don't like it but it's beginning to grow on me. Also a couple more that was posted earlier but these have improved blooms on re bloom...Ellie

I do that too. I usually take a picture of the FFO unless its just so very bad that I don't want to look at it. But the flowers that open afew days later are almost always much better looking so I take pictures again.

That sculpting on Bas Refief sure is unusual looking. I don't know what to think of it or if I like that look or not.

Angelic Messenger is a nice one.

I am in the dislike camp for Bas Relief. My Mother-inlaw loves it so when I got Carved Pumpkin Pie as a bonus plant I sent it straight to her. It is good that there is such a wide variety of daylilies because there is certainly a wide variety of people.

I would probably love Dreamy Elegance if I saw it in your garden but I can't quite tellfrom the picture.

I was at TS yesterday & didn't see a single colored glass plate! Did get an adorable antique-looking wooden pelican 16 in. tall of wood on a weathered post with "old" rope & netting & a soda bottle cap painted tan with rounded tack through center of it holding the rope in place. Great gift for DS & wife! Keep looking but probably better luck at yard sales. I think some people make deals with TS owners so pay more for glass or dolls that have good resale value in antique shops as it saves the antique owner time as they don't have to go to sales,1 stop shopping & the TS owner gets more than they could get from us bargain shoppers. I know after 1st few months new TS opens all the colored glassware & dolls disappear, so you know that is when the antique owners "found" the store! I've seen them checking out dolls & said oh, nice dolls & was told they weren't for sale(to me) as I saw the woman looking take several in a bag & those left were put out for $12-15. And I wouldn't pay that. Go early in day this summer & you should have good luck at yard sales. Jan

I can see why you like Dublin Elaine so much. I'm actually finding myself attracted to doubles all of a sudden. Not all of them, forms like DE I love. I have got to get to know the terminology. The craze started late last fall. So far I only have 1 & figuring out which others I would like to get. Post Pink Lemonade Party EVERYDAY & see if I care. lol. That pink is awesome! I really like the tight curled, wide edge it has, looks like a gold edge too?

Nice harvest. I also get out early every day to harvest, and then I spend the rest of the day dealing with the harvest---washing, sorting, processing it for fresh eating, or processing it for canning, etc. If I have time, I go out in the evening to harvest again, mostly because that means I am able to start canning first thing in the morning the next day which lets me get it done before the temperatures get too hot. Dorothy, They have eaten my pepper plants, back before we put up the taller fence, but only very early in the season when the deer are still skinny and hungry from the long winter. Later in the season, they wouldn't bother them. I never can figure them out though. They'll eat every sunflower plant that I plant some years if I am growing them in a spot where the deer can reach them, and other years they won't touch them at all. I don't mind sharing some of the harvest with the deer---when we have oodles of cucumbers, Armenian cukes or melons, I'll slice some up and put them out beside the compost pile around sunset for the deer. I don't like it when they harvest all of something for themselves without leaving some for us though.

I'm still not too sure about BR either....if I grew it, I might come to like it better. Your AM has shaped up nicely and I love DE...can't recall seeing that one previously, but then you know how forgetful we "seniors" can be sometimes. :)

Hi Ellie, I always enjoy your pics. I had a seedling bloom this year that reminds me of BR. Unfortunately, it is rusty and I don't think I'll be able to keep it. But I like the carved look -

I don't care for bas Relief either.I like Angelic Messenger.Dreany Elegance is pretty.

Angelic Messenger is the one I like. By the time you go thru all these post and repost, it confuses an old timer like me.

Rita, it seems to have some tangerine in the scultping.. Different for sure...

Edward, DE isn't photogenic because she looks much better in the garden than in the pix.

Yep Jan, I do know how we have the SENIOR MOMENTS. Not in your case as you are much younger. I posted DE last week on her first re bloom. She looks better all the time...

Kathy, just send it this away. I will cross them and see what happens. Something unusual I'll bet. Your seedling, I like it a lot..Thanks for posting the pic...

Thanks Nancy. I think I would love to cross breed that one with a pickles one I have..American Gothic. The carvings aren't as elaborate but it would be interesting to see...

I like the sculpting, and Katlynn please try to save the seedling, it is gorgeous. If you decide not to keep it send it my way.
I have been using the Plant Wash (posted about on here) for what little rust I found this year. It seems to be working great. It is not a chemical and not nearly as expensive as the chemicals for rust.
