I have a red daylily maybe it is more of a crimson. and a peach or coral with a red center. not sure what kind there are. I did buy from a lily enthusiast thinning out her garden.. I do have pictures if you want to see them. please email me if you would like to trade. I am up for anything.

Deb, I am just getting started with the seed exchange so I have nothing to trade yet. I would really love to have some poppy seeds. If you have any to spare, I would be happy to pay you something for the seeds. Maybe in time I will have something you need. I have rheumatoid arthritis and this will be theraputic for me. Daylilies are one of the easiest perennials to grow and some of the most durable. They are not the slightest bit frost sensitive - you can plant them any time your soil is workable - and they are very tolerant to a wide range of gardening conditions. You are always going to get varying opinions, but having grown and sold tons of perennials professionally over the years, my experience with these plants is that they are far less requiring of specific attention than most other perennials and extremely forgiving. They are not fussy about soil quality but would prefer decent drainage. They are also very drought tolerant once established and do not require much in the way of supplemental fertilization. The occasional mulch with compost is more than adequate. They are also far more shade tolerant than many expect, but too much shade will result in fewer blooms. And the only time I've ever deadheaded a daylily is when I was expecting a garden tour or to spiff up the plants at the nursery. Periodic dividing is about the only 'regular' maintenance necessary.
