That should be Rhododendron prunifolium in the link.

I fell in love with this azalea when I went to Callaway for my birthday one year. These azaleas were in full bloom. After several years, I bought one at a native plant sale. Now it blooms happily next to my front porch. On my birthday.

It's a wonderful plant and a lovely summer flower.

I ordered 3 of the plumleaf azaleas from a nursery in LaGrange. Can't wait to get them!

Did you get them from LazyK? They are in Pine Mountain, but that may be considered LaGrange. They are a fine nursery, and a supplier of native azaleas to many local sales.

No, I bought them from Shady Garden Nursery...their ebay store. I'll look up Lazy K.

My plant is still blooming, in fact it is probably in it's prime now. Here is a shot showing the general habit:

Old old is your azalea and what was the original size?

I think I bought it in 2001 or 2002 - it was a one gallon plant (which no doubt originated from Lazy K since I got it from Chattahoochee Nature Center). But then when we moved to a new house in 2003, I transplanted it. I'm sure that set it back a bit.
