I love the Sellstation Sunset, its outstanding. Do you deadhead your D/L's or just let the flowers fall off on their own when they are done flowering?

Wow! I think that's your prettiest, most ruffly photo of BARNEY ever. Let me know if you ever want to do a trade for that one. LEXINGTON AVENUE looks great! Doesn't it make you want more Munsons? I always love MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE, and IN HIS HANDS looks wonderful. The top garden shot is stunning. I think you must be at peak now.

No headheading here. Much too many daylilies to get that done. I only headhead what I am going to take a picture of. If its in the middle of a bed and I can't reach it, then sometimes not even that gets done!!!

I recieved LEXINGTON AVENUE as a bonus when I bought SOUTH SEAS or I wouldn't even have one Munson. Unless someone sends me another Munson as a bonus plant, I will not have any more as I don't see any that I actually feel like buying. Truthfully, I am very baffled by the wide appeal and following that they have. I guess if I had lots of room to put daylilies in big beds by the thousands that I would feel differently.

Love the shot of part of your front bed. Its really pretty and the orientals are so lovely. My favorite in the group is Clarity Of Vision, but they are all nice.

Beautiful as usual. The first garden shot is really good... I like to see their faces though to see how they really look. I have LA and really like it. I have several Munsons but do not collect them as some do. I think it's mostly the watermarks that folks are attracted too plus the fact that his daylilies were so hardy.. It's hard to choose a favorite from this bunch but I have to say, they took to the rain very well...Ellie

Ellie- They look really good. That orange in the corner is CITRIX, which I have posted many times. Then theres JULIE NEWMAR and OFF BEAT around it and MAYBELLINE EYES and BEAUTIFUL EDGINGS in back of it. The rest of the row running down are my Westbourne Daylilies from last fall. The second row there is a bunch of Isabel Hibard intros and some things from the Lily Auction over the winter.

I plan on putting a third row but have to move the row of oriental lilies back some after they bloom before that can happen.

Every one is gorgeous, especially Barney. Lex Avenue is beautiful too, I love those Munsons!

WOW ,,RITA; That first photo is absolutely breathtaking.Just gorgeous.And the second photo of the Lilies is gorgeous, too...Well,I was wanting to see a close up photo of the Oriental lilies.I thought several thats in my back yard was Oriental Lilies, but, no, they not.At least they look nothing like any you have.The foliage is different,and spreads out to make big plants,and I hate the things.They have been cut down so many times,and they come right back.They have huge stalks, but soon as a flower shows up, they fall over on the ground.Ran over them with a lawn mower and cut them off to the ground and 2 weeks later they back up with bloom stalk. I love that TIKAL MAID . its beautiful,and BARNEY IS GORGEOUS.I love that one the most. MALAYSIAN MARKETPLACE is gorgeous, too..You really have some beauties.I am glad you posted BARNEY again,as I think hes beautiful.

Jean- Oriental lilies are bulbs which send up one bloom stalk a year. If you cut those stalks down, that would be it for them, they would not regrow the stalks. So I have no idea what you have growing but its not any form of true lily, oriental or asiatic.

That front yard section is finially on the right track after afew false starts. After I got that stone wall done, then I suddenly knew how it should look. Was having problems evisioning it before that and had shrubs there in the middle which was really bad (got relocated this spring) and roses there last fall which all got dug up and moved.

If I don't forget about it,Rita,I will take a picture of the lily I have growing in my back yard.I have 3 or 4 of them scattered around.I did not want them,but,I won't hardly destroy a flower of any kind.They use to grow in the front yard.There was 7 of them growing,and they multiply so fast.I dug them all up one year and gave them to a daughter and thought I had all of them gone, but, a few weeks later some more popped up.I cut them down every 2 weeks with a mower and they pop right back up.

Ok, Heres the front yard again, same view as the first picture in this post but trying to get closer so you all can see more detail.

That row of orientals lilies there looks absolutely fantastic but it blocks anything in back of it. You can just barely see the zinnias because they are tall.

Last fall I put a row of daylilies in back of those lilies and that was a disaster, did not work as you could not see the daylilies. Been thinking on how I can fix the oriental lilies as I absolutely love them. Have no intension of getting rid of them. Thinking move them back and too the sides in two big groupings and then keep the zinnias running accross the back each year as they really make it look like the cottage garden that I had in mind. Talk about a happy accident! With this done there would be plenty of room for that third row of daylilies.
