Flagstone Groundcover Dilemma

pugsgarden

We just laid a flagstone walkway with sand in between the stones and want to plant a groundcover to spread and stablize it a bit. The problem is that half of the walkway is in total shade, under the eaves of the house, and the other half gets morning and afternoon (up until 2:00 p.m.) sun. Is there a groundcover that will do well in this situation? I want something that won't have to be watered constantly. I was thinking about a creeping thyme or Irish moss, but not sure if the Irish moss can take the sun. We're in zone 9 (Sunset zone 14) - Sacramento, California. Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated!
