Yesterday I went around already and cut off srapes that had bloomed out and were setting seed pods. Geez, it is only the beginning of July and I have to start the cutting of scapes already. I fear there will be no bloom in August even with all the late bloomers I have here as my late blooming beds are already scaped up and many are ready to bust into bloom. In fact the last picture, SELLSTATION PLUM CRAZY is in a late bloomers row and is a late bloomer but already started as you can see. This is just crazy.

It's registered with a really high bud count...do you get a good amount of bloom?

Still my favorite, YO BIG MOUTH. Just makes me laugh when I see that name. That bloom looks huge.Great pics as always.

My CELESTIAL MUSIC hasn't started blooming yet and I noticed alot of the Rice's ML's are scaped, budded but not ready to open yet.

Thanks for the nice comments. I am especially fond of the short yellow flowers - the ones that make the nice puffs of seed? -Haven't gotten them cleared out yet. Well, it's Saturday, the sun is shining, and I'm off to play with my chainsaw. About the only trees that didn't get major damage are the spruce trees, only because we didn't have much wind. Connie

Thanks, Chris, Jean, Kay! Yes, Light of the World is a great one, I wish I had more room for it to spread. Zena is registered as M, but always blooms late, that was 2FO. I transplanted it to a better place but now it is not as tall. Swirling Water is the one I think of getting rid of every year, I like the bloom but it fades and curls inward very quickly. Yet it is still here :) It seems to be open well and at least for couple hours in the morning it looks pretty. Still hesitating.

Today I bought a 'Lee's Dark Purple' and a 'Purple Splendour.' I bought them at Peninsula Gardens where they are having a great Rhodie Sale. The 'Lee's Dark Purple' is blooming right now. It is exactly the color I was looking for. Grape purple. The 'Purple Splendour' has yet to bloom. Thanks for the Rhodie ID site, I bookmarked it aftermidnight - I asked my mother to pick me up a 'Jonathan Shaw' at Al's in Sherwood, Oregon boxofrox. I looked at Al's Garden Center's site, and they have an amazing variety of Rhodies available! Lucky Oregonians!

Sellstation Plum Crazy is my definite favorite. Did you have this one last year? I don't remember it. That poor late just couldn't wait. It had to bust out with all those gorgeous blooms. Legendary Romance has an interesting color combination - very tropical. I don't remember it from last year either. Julie Newmar and Hot Lava are still looking great!

Debra, yes I have had Sellstation Plum Crazy and the rest of my Dale Thomas late bloomers for years. It just never blooms this early! Legendary Romance is one of my Korth intros.

Love Yo Big Mouth, it is my favorite. Sellstation Plum Crazy too. And Prediction. Love the picture of Kisses Like Wine with other flowers.
Yeah, there are bloomed out scapes here too :( Along with those that dried out already. And guess what, today my Final Touch started. It's just the beginning of July!

I like Thrillseeker, & Legendary romance too, but Yo Big Mouth is still my favorite. The only daylily left to bloom that hasn't is Final Touch, & I'm not expecting it to. Final Touch has never really liked me for some reason. It has dwindled gradually from 6 fans down to 1, maybe 2. Can't tell for sure if the 2nd fan is daylily or a weed :) I was out this morning cutting off scapes. Most of my daylilies will be finished by the end of the week except for the reblooming ones & a few very lates.

Yo Big Mouth is by a Florida hybridizer, isn't it? I'm surprised it does well for you. It must be a remnant from before you swore off the southern evergreens.

Mantis, I can't remember who hybridized it but I think I just fell for it on the Lily Auction and bought it not thinking. But it is a real trooper here so all turned out well. You can't tell in pictures but it has big flowers.

Nat, the extra earlies had compleatly dried out scapes which I cut long ago but these are just regular season bloomers and I had to cut done scapes. On July 4th? No way that should be happening. And as I walk the garden I see scapes with one or two buds left. Soon I will be cutting more scapes. Of course, others are just starting.

Nancy, it is always sad to get to the end of bloom season but you did have some nice rebloom this year. It is so hot early here this year with lots of rain so I am wondering if I might get extra rebloom here this year. I sure am hoping so.

Rita, there are a lot of beauties there, but Legendary Romance and Yo big Mouth are my favorite here. Your garden is always so lovely.

Well, I hunted some more and finally found your post. :) and I love this LEGENDARY ROMANCE its a bright one.
Kisses Like Wine is very pretty, too, looks a little like KING GEORGE.HOT LAVA is very pretty. mine had its last bloom yesterday, no rebloom sacpe left now.
YO BIG MOUTH is a beauty, too.I really like that one and it looks huge.SELLSTATION PLUM CRAZY. is my favorite one here. Its gorgeous.

Your gardens must be a riot of color right now. I've seen you post several pics of Yo Big Mouth, so I'm guessing it has a long bloom season?

Oh my Rita, those are all just too beautiful for words. I know I bloomed out early here too. I am still having the occasional rebloom. Kisses Like Wine is one of my favorites here. sharon

Chris, I haven't paid much attention to when Yo Big Mouth started but I have been getting lots of pictures so I guess it must have a nice bloom season. It is just such a dramatic flower. I am drawn to it as soon as I see it.
