Yes I agree, but it happens every year. Just think how long those further south feel. Their season has been over for quite awhile. The places I used to visit have their peak blooms around the 1st of June and they're not deep south. I still have some blooms, but I'm sure everyone would get tired of seeing the same ones over and over again.

Yes, but if your far enough south you probably get decent rebloom. I guess it depends.

I found a new scape coming up on WILD CHERRY ROUNDUP. Can't call it rebloom as it is on a fan that has not bloomed. So If it had not bloomed but the other fans are long done, is that rebloom? Plus if you pull the dried up scapes how do you know if the scape come from a previously unbloomed fan or if it really is a rebloom scape?

Rita, If you can't remember if it bloomed earlier, then you have too many daylilies!

Just kidding ya...I get confused in my seedling bed...so I leave the dried scapes up in that bed, until I can go out there with a pencil and paper and take notes. But they look messy to me, even there.

I think the thing about rebloom is that you appreciate each flower more than you do earlier when everything is blooming at once. Also, my rebloom scapes tend to be taller and the flowers seem bigger and better. This is when I tend to take my best pictures...because there is less to photograph and I may take 20 shots of one flower!

So, what else is blooming in your garden besides DLs for the rest of the season? Black eyed susans just started (not the DL), butterfly bush, agastache, of course, my annuals, balloon flowers started not too long ago, echinacea (coneflowers) - love them!, and I'm just getting started on my hosta collection and they are blooming now too.

Lots of things are blooming including annuals everywhere, Hummingbird Mint, Sunflowers, Butterfly bushes and many of the roses are currently reblooming or just starting to rebloom from thier spring flush.

Kathy- I really have to count up my daylilies as I think I have about 300. Then I can remember that the daylily bloomed but on the clumps not all fans have bloomed on all clumps. Now some so far have been doing the instant rebloom thing. But I am also hoping for the more common type of rebloom where they rest awhile and then shoot up scapes. But it occured to me that I would never know if it came from a "late" blooming fan or a true reblooming fan once those old scapes are pulled out of there. Right now, they are all still there.

Just so depressing to have it all over. I was thinking about it last night and decided on adding a section of true lates to bloom in August. Since my space thats left here is very limited it was a challange to come up with a good idea for section. But I figgured out the perfect spot. It is currently occupied by 7 roses but at over 200 roses, I have plenty of roses so I am going to make that spot daylily late, late bloomers instead. Don't expect immediate results as I am not getting out the shovel quite yet.
