Actually... we thought it would be nice to make a little pocket money by selling a few plants... we're right on a corner, have the space, have the materials... and we figure that it would be nice to recoup some of the money we spend on plants by selling the excess, and helping others who love to garden! "Our Secret Gardens - Perennials and Unusual Plants" will open for business next spring. We'll sell out of our little greenhouse and garden area, and also have tables at a few local flea markets and farmer's markets. We want to stay small and keep a comfortable amount of plants for sale and care... we want it to be fun! Once it feels like work, it's no longer fun, and our goal is to keep it all enjoyable! Xuan, if you ever decide to come to the States, you're more than welcome to be a part of our little perennial experience! The more gardeners, the merrier! We could always use another knowledgeable hand! As I've said before, Xuan, I'm more than happy to share the seeds from my gardens... it's a great feeling to know that I have a friend halfway around the world, enjoying plants from seeds grown right here in my yard! A little update... the Clematis seed pods are maturing nicely, and several daylilies have beautiful, large seed pods growing! I should have a wonderful assortment of seeds to send to you! A little note to Kitty... I'm having a heck of a time getting my Cerastium to grow in a pot once I dig some up... the stems are really long and thin, and the roots don't look that great. I think it would be better to dig this one in spring. But, I do have some other wonderful pink flowers for you, and some seeds, too! Once I get all of them harvested and dried a bit, off they go! And the Cerastium can be shipped in spring, when it begins to emerge and is better able to acclimate to a container for doing so. On rainy days, I'm working on the sign for our little business... it's an old weathered piece of plywood, and it will be cut and painted to look sort of shabby-chic... and the sign pointing the way to our driveway will be made from an old fence picket... and that will be painted to match, with flowers and nice lettering! We'll never get rich on our little corner in the country, but we will have fun, and we'll at least make a few dollars to buy more plants with!

Geeeezzzz, I am enjoying this new pc and high speed internet. Wohooooo!!! And so is Ana and Em by the way for they can play their online games now and won't have to wait for foreeevveerrr for it to download. I had to shooo them away from the pc and remind them to go to bed! Jodi, that project is lookin good girlfriend! So...when can you come by here in VA and let's do my garden...lol! Oh and please bring your hubby along so he can fix my pc or retrieve my stuff in there. I lost EVERYTHING! Booohoooo! I on the other hand stopped putting bark mulch on the beds sorrounding my house. Earwigs thrive on them and I had a very bad infestation of them these past years. With the little ones AND the new puppy (digging and chewing) going through mommy's flowers, I have been avoiding spraying fungicides/insecticide/miticides. So far, the weather here has been good to the ammies and I have had no need to spray...yet! The 90s temp. did made the ammies leaves turn a little bit pale/yellowish green. But hey, that's a lot better than seeing red spots. They would green up though after a good drench of rain. I have sprayed at least half lesser than I sprayed last season. Oh and one more thing I LEARNED this season. VIRUS ALERT!!! You will not believe how much virus infested bulbs are being sold to us here in US. And we have been paying $8-$15 (average per bulb) for GARBAGE!!! I really should start a new thread on this. Xuan...How are your seedlings doing? Did the old seeds germinate by the way? Inform me too if anybody is going home to Vietnam so I can send you some stuff too. I'm currently seperating seedlings and potting them up in their own cell packs. They have grown so fast and big after being continously grown under lights last winter. Their bulbs are almost as big as the 2 year olds that I put to rest last winter. Unfortunately, I won't have indoor space for all of them this winter. So they should grow as much as they can now and then they'll be put to rest this coming winter. I have some very interesting crosses this season too.

Thank you Ruthie, I am still making these little outfits. Each one gives me an idea for the next one. It's funny how little scraps and leftovers can become something new. I recently turned a long sleeved dress jacket into short sleeved. I then turned the cut off sleeves into both a pair of slacks for Barbie and another pair for Ken. I like taking ideas from the fabrics themselves. I made a top for Barbie that had hearts in the print. I made a pair of capris out of denim and then sewed little hearts on them with a stitch my machine makes. On another outfit the pants were multicolored stripes so I made a white T-shirt and then stitched design stripes in all the colors in the pants. I hope you are having as much fun as I am.

Oh my gosh, my kitties are soooo jealous of your Jack! Now I'm going to have to search the thrift stores for doll beds to remake for them. I have two boys and a girl. All well under two years old. I'll have to make three or Mollee our Mainecoone (as in very large) will lay on the boys if they don't let her have it. ;^)
