Have: Grand Duke of Tuscany jasmine
Comments (4)Karyn, I have been looking for Sambac/Grand duke of Tuscany Jasmine for a long time. I don't have nice and healthy plant for now since I've just moved to hi-desert; But, I will look for any plant you wish in Lowes/Home Depot - lol. Let me know....See MoreMost fragrant? Most healthy?
Comments (25)In comparison (judging from the 2 out of 3 I have, and that it is still early-having planted these just in the Spring): 1. MIP & Heritage both appear to be doing well (no flowers yet on MIP) as far as foliage, though Souvenir de Dr. Reynaud seems a tad better than MIP on both counts. 2. Thought about Frederic Mistral, but went with the McCartney Rose instead (which seems to be doing well, though growing slowly, so far). May need to reconsider FM (but for 2010, so far for fragrance, leaning to- Desiree Parmentier, Climbing Clothilde Soupert & Marie Pavie). 4, or multiples thereof, seems to be optimal for shipping, though....See MorePlease help identify this fragrant flower - Jasmine?
Comments (7)Shalinimunjal, I doubt you'd find it in local nurseries... I've got two plants (from two different online shops) and they seem to be doing ok. Seems like they're both a bit stunned, since I don't see new leave growing as fast as my Jasmines. My zone is still fluctuating to low 60s in temperature so I keep them inside for now at a south-east window. Can't wait for them to start blooming. I pretty much forgot how it smelled except remembering that I went crazy for it at the time. The entire Dasheen outdoor dining area at Ladera was filled with the fragrance waifing through the night air. I would've gone back to Ladera just to smell the flowers again, except now I've got them at home thanks to this forum!...See MoreCestrum nocturnum or diurnum fragrance
Comments (2)I had a diurnum two years ago. The fragrance isn't much, imo. Give your nocturnum lots of sun, water and fertilizer and you'll get lots of flowers very soon. It responds to hotter days and nights with a spurt of growth, and blooms on new growth....See Moremehitabel
