It's definitely coneflower rosette mite in Rouge's pictures. I feel sure that coneflower rosette mite is coming into our garden from breeders and/or nurseries with infested stock. Picture below (today): As of 5(+) years ago, there was also a group of 3 'Hot Papaya' immediately to the right of and behind the lungwort. It was removed, heavily infested with the mite, several years ago. The mite doesn't appear to have spread to the 'Summer Sky' and it also doesn't appear to have spread to a clump of 'Magnus' which was 10 foot to the right of the 'Hot Papaya'. At the same time, I have removed heavily mite infested Echinacea from locations in our flower beds which were nowhere near any other existing Echinacea. Judging from my experience, perhaps a lot of the recent and current nursery stock available is infested. Perhaps the use of industrial miticides keeps the mite under control while the plants are with the breeders and/or in other greenhouses. I woke up to a zillion of those this morning after overnight rains. All over my plants and all over the garage siding. Fortunately, I did have ammonia and a brand-new hudson-sprayer I'd never taken out of the box. It was 6:30am. Daughter was content with cartoons and chocolate milk. Guess what I was doing outside still in my jammies? Blitzkrieg. And then a couple hours later, I made a second pass just to show them who's in charge. Felt great. Gayle

With the exception of the spices and the stuff on the fridge, your kitchen doesn't look cluttered at all, it's beautiful! I was surprised at the difference between your original post and the actual photos, you are 95% there. Even your cookbooks match (!) I would do what everyone else suggests about putting the spices in the same type of containers. I would also find another place to hang the stuff you put on the fridge or get rid of some of it. Regarding more accessories, you could get - colorful salt and pepper mills for above the stove - a cookie jar or flour/sugar containers for the open shelving next to the sink - serving trays, bowls, or platters in silver, bright colors or white for the shelving above the microwave - get something you would love to use as well as look at. I don't know if I would hang solid fabric curtains, your windows are not that large, but I LOVE the fabrics that circuspeanut picked out.
