My early Christmas present from DH...garden shed

DH and a carpenter friend fixed the inside of my shed !! It looks great. It is quite small so they concentrated on organizing all the "stuff". The first view is of the right side. That is where the bikes now hang. The shelf wall was empty except for nails stuck in the studs. I am so pleased. I also got the very cool work table from my junque man...for free! I am going to refinish the heart pine in the Spring. I already bought new strap hinges. See how organized I am LOL.I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas too ! c

What a great gift! It is so wonderful to have everything in one place and know what that place is. It makes anything you have to do so much easier.

Sometimes I spend more time looking than I do working! I have plenty of places; just have to decide which one and then stick to it.

Great early-Birthday presents, lucky you. I've seen pics of these in country mags where they were used as the seats for stools (like a breaksfast bar stool). If I can find the pic in that particular mag, I'll post it for you or tell you where you can find it. (I think it was Country Living mag.) Sal

Marilyn, we were in Tucson in 1979, the Sonora Desert Museum was incredible even back then. They didn't have their Hummingbird exhibit then :o( but we thoroughly enjoyed what they did have, I could have spent all day there. We also saw part of the filming of 'The Gambler' at old Tucson, went into the caves, that was an eery experience when they turned the lights out for a minute. I thought I saw a Anna's this summer when the Rufus were here but couldn't say for sure as it was here and gone so quickly I didn't get a good look. The Anna's for a very long time were only found in a very small area of the city but now seem to be spreading out into other neighborhoods. These little gems don't migrate so now that we have them we will make sure there's fresh food for them at all times...Annette

Karen, so happy I found this post before hitting the hay. Lovely set your friend sent. Love your Mikasa figurines you found and your sleigh is pretty also. I think from the looks of things your showing you may have to invite the DD and DDIL over again if your not careful.LOL Are you the reason the saying SHOP TILL YOU DROP came about? I am so excited to see what the kids come up with for me for Christmas. I told them things for tablescapes. I'm so hooked!!! Punk

Believe it or not DH said there is a case to be made for not being organized...he said that if stuff is put lots of different places then the chance of finding what you want is greater than if everything is put just where it belongs...then you have to remember that ONE place...hahaLOL>..he is a funny guy ! DH is trying to figure a way to use the table in the kitchen...I was amazed when he suggested it. He said "this would be a great baking center". It is 6 ft long though and my current island is 4ft and fits perfectly. I would have to sell it. Then the only possibility with this bigger table is since it has wheels if it sat where the fireplace is , straddling it as it were, then I could roll it to the center of the kitchen and back out of the way....I am thinkin' believe me of a way to get it in the house:) And yes this man is a peach of a guy ! Nice Caroline ~ I know you will enjoy it, having a place for everything is nice. I really need to work on my shed, and your pictures are an inspiration.

Good question Libby LOL ! I have high hopes.

Thank you Flower...it was a surprisingly fast and inexpensive fix.

A little funny for the rest of you...DH says that if everything is spread around in lots of different places...then the chance of finding it is greater since you don't have to remember the exact place you put something...he is a great joker !

I'm in awe of those of you who are organized. What a grand tool box, Caroline!

We are a pair of packrats, incorrigible. The Scrap Man comes by and reminds us every now and then that we're supposed to be throwing away and we keep moving things around. The space fills up again with objects that need lengthy goodbyes.

We dragged the old Ford Truck from under the equipment shed for the Scrap Man to take away, and DH rearranged all his toys. At lunch, he described to me a battery operated nail driver that is on sale somewhere and then admitted that he has an air impact nail driver that has never been out of the box. Guess who gets a robe and jammies for Christmas?

Nell I have a heat gun still wrapped in its package...LOL....1 yr now...I am afraid of it...SHHHH ..don't tell my DH !

How awesome! I love your shed. (I'm envious, too) Yes, you are SO organized. All those shelves are just wonderful... and the pegboard... and the bike racks...

I thought I left a response here but I guess I forgot to hit submit. Love the remodel of your shed especially your work table. We've got a shed too one you walk in and back out LOL.
DH made me a work table out of half a sheet of plywood cut lengthwise. This is hinged to 2 post in the lath house, when in use you lift it up hooking it to 2 chains also attached to the posts. These clip on to the front edges of the table. When not in use the table drops done hiding a multitude of pots and stuff.

Nell, if we're talking packrats unfortunately I'm a charter member.
