It seems as if you can't ever get enough done, isn't that true?
My hubby and I just finished one huge section in our backyard for the season. I got the mulch in finally. It had rained too long here.
I got my peonies planted, alliums, and a few other things. I guess now I'll wait for next year. I have a bunch of stuff on order, but I guess it will come in the spring, which is fine, since I want to put these in different areas, which aren't completed yet.
We can't do much more, it's getting cooler here, and I was pushing it as it was, but I seem to do this each year.
we will have much to do next year. It's good to have time to reflect and plan somewhat, but I never have followed a strict plan. My gardens just seem to happen.
I still have some fall cleanup to do yet, but that's no biggie. I can't wait to see what things look like next year already.

You worked your fannie off lady. Doesn't it feel good?! I did a huge weekend before our mid-September party and really saw the reward. It's amazing what I still have blooming. But with the recent rains, the weeds are growing with frightening speed.

I hear you about the tomtoes. Mine are still going strong, but they aren't as tasty as a month ago. Plus, they look awful. They'll go first.

Today was the first day it actually felt like fall here, kinda cloudy, cool & drizzly. I'm with you, Keesha - during the heat, I just did bare watering maintenance to keep things alive. Now that it's cooler, it's time to get some things done around here. Today I treated the fire ant mounds that popped up everywhere after yesterday's hard rain, pruned a few bedraggled trees, started some sweet peas so they can go in the ground the very second the morning glories are done, opened a box from Parks containing some new daylilies, and figured out where they'll go. Tomorrow I'll clear that spot out, amend it, and get them planted. Have several things that need to be moved around, and I really prefer to do that in the fall, so they can get established and be ready to go in the spring. It feels to so good to be outside with my hands dirty again !
