Cut flower bouquet pictures

I did only a few this year, usually for when I had guests coming. My favorite one was done yesterday. Only one bloom is open so far, but the whole room just reeks of it. :)

Share some of yours? I'm looking for ideas for more cut flowers next year too.

Awesome - my best are long gone, but were sunflowers only, cosmos with asters, etc. With a bouquet like that, as well as my sunflowers, you are best to weigh the bowl/vase down with marbles, or some such thing!!

I should have added: I take garden bouquets to friends who are hospitalized or home-bound. We get the the tiny bouquets made, of all kinds flowers blooming at the time, to test what will keep the longest for them. A couple of weeks ago, at a bride's request for a bouquet from my gardens, I made a bride's table bouquet. Lucky thing it was right at the time my Muscadet lilium were blooming--white oriental lilies with small red/fuchsia dots in the throat. I couldn't find the right container, but did find a long narrow ugly brown one for the long narrow table. About 15 coats of white paint and it was ready to go. The neck flared a bit, so I added a necklace of braided pearls with wire ones sprayng out in every direction. Filled it with the huge lilies (about 10) and one starting to open bud for a bit of contrasting form. I topped it all off with pics I made of wired sprays of pearls for a bit of height. It received lots of very positive comments: "You should make a business of it" "They're prettier than the professionals." I had been so nervous about it--not the kind of reaction I like from gardening. I had so feared everyone would think it not up to par that this pleased me greatly. I don't think most climbers will do what you want. The long canes usually have shorter offshoots with the blooms. Try some of the taller regular bushes; check their descriptions in the catalogs.

norizam, I will have to look for Clothilde Soupert. Every picture I've seen of her is just beautiful! You know that's when you must have that rose lol. floridarose, We get into the 20's here once in a while. Seems we had quite a few freezes this year. I have a greenhouse for some things. The good thing about growing roses is they don't have to go in the greenhouse. I keep mine in pots for now so maybe that's why I don't get as good of winter bloom. I am starting over with roses here in FL. I had tons where I used to live but it was a very different growing experience there. I am learning how to grow them here in FL and its all different . Nematodes, sandy soil, tons and tons of bugs, humidity, you name it lol. Which dahlias will do well here? I saw some in bags at Lowes- Dinnerplate Dahlias, I think. Would those work? I had no clue Poppies would grow here I thought it was too hot. WOW! I would probably have to stake dahlias like i do the sunflowers, I bet so they don't fall over. SoFL Rose, I just got a bunch of different zinnia seeds. Do you just plant the seeds straight in the ground or start them indoors first? kingcobb, The curly willow branches do look interesting! I think I saw some of those at Michael's (craft store). How large do those trees get (total mature size)? Ingrid, Are you talking about the Buddleja davidii types of butterfly bushes? Yes we can grow those here. I had never thought of using their foilage. I think that would be a great filler. I can always use more butterfly and bee attractants in our yard. They are the reason that I really try not to spray anything...that and being on well water lol. *Beautiful bouquets!!

Can I play too?

This has been a great exercise for me. I've not taken photos inside before (I've been practicing since last night). I never cut flowers for use indoors. It is too messy and I'm lazy. And, I never use my vases that I've collected a long the way. I could never be a flower arranger-for sure!

It is suppose to freeze tonight. The season is over for me and the garden.

Love brugmansias although the Dr. Seuss I have now is in the ground in an area where it doesn't get enough sun and this year I sadly neglected it with the fertilizer. It is just now starting to set flowers and last night's frost didn't get it. Hopefully there will be flowers this year before it gets knocked back. I should go out and take cuttings to overwinter and plant out in more full sun locations next year.

I've lurked forever. This subject made me join! I love cutting flowers and last year I grew many beautiful flowers for my October wedding. Here are a few photos.

We made a grapevine arch and kept it empty. We cut ALOT of mums and wildflowers and asked our friends and family to decorate the arch before the ceremony.

My flowers are done for the year....I do have a couple of sprigs of salvia and a late blooming mum called Sheffield Pink on my desk. Not photo worthy.

I can grow 'em much better than I arrange 'em. The rest of you have some beautiful pics to show. I generally bring in something and put in a bud vase now and then or in a flower brick.

My mother grew many different flowers and made a big bouquet for the Church almost every Sunday. Dahlias and Peonies are the ones that I remember best.

Once in a while I dry a few stems of Hydrangea for the house or some Salvia leucantha.

This was my last bouquet of the season.

I cut some garden flowers and "weeds" to make a bouquet for a shower here at work.

Great Bouquets, everyone!! I was in awe, but the as nice as the flower arrangements are, the choice of vase and photo settings are just pure magic. Even yours, TM. They are all telling of your individual aesthetics!!

I am loving all of the bouquet pics!!!

I had fresh cut flowers on the tables almost constantly this "season", and I really miss them now (everything is dead here. :(

I only took a few pics this year, and both my bouquets and photos were really haphazard. lol!

My first are always very casual nosegays with forget-me-nots, violets, grape hyacinths, lily of the valley, etc. I pick tons of them, like this (end of season):

I love the tulips and bleeding heart mix! would have to search for a close-up, though:

Love, love, love all these bouquets! Love the one in the pumpkin and haxuan, your middle photo shows my kind of bouquet! So pretty. Partymusic, I also try to have fresh flowers throughout the house and your combinations are absolutely perfect.

No problem CMK,

The top bouquet has:
Margaret Merril, Heritage, Belinda's Dream, Graham Thomas, Morden Blush, Garden Party, White Kordana miniature and The fairy with a little bit of Catmint and Fox Glove as fillers.

The bottom one has:
Margaret Merril, Morden Blush, Garden Party and Alba Mediland.

I am so glad I check back in with this thread, the bouquet are all so amazing.

Some great ideas in this thread. Thanks for sharing. The pumpkin is my favorite, but there are other great ones too.
