Daylilies not looking too good...

smokedbyremy

Can anyone explain why my daylilies this season started out very nice, and more profusely than the last couple of years, and all of a sudden, they (blooms) are looking either faded in color and somewhat deformed?

I have noticed that the buds just before opening, have many lumps on them, almost diseased looking.

Any advice to avoid this next year, or is this common in daylilies or certain varieties?

I can get photos if necessary, but I have looked at the parent plants that I took rhizomes/roots from a few years ago, and they do not appear to be as affected as mine.

Thanks.

Remy
