Thanks lily! If you mean you are going to try posting, I can tell you how. I never thought I'd be doing it. There were several nice GW members (carol23, scully931, and solstice98) who took the time to email me how. They did this a while ago, and just today I decided to try it. Really wasn't hard. :)

I've had good luck with PC. But, the best to grow, are the old ones, not the new varieties. I have good luck with magnus, and I have some pink ones that I'm not sure what the variety is. Mine die back in the fall and come back in the spring. They also come up everywhere in the flower bed. So, I transplant them where ever I want some. I just deadheaded them, and threw away a lot of seed. But, I can keep seed and share them. If you are interested in some hardy, no name coneflowers, that even attract red spotted purples, I'll share my seed this fall. How I grow them: I stick them in the ground, and water them until they are established. Then I just forget about them. My soil is sandy loam, but has lots of silty clay in it also. It can get pretty hard when it gets really dry. Silvery crescentspot cats sometimes defoliate the plants, but that's ok with me. When everything starts to droop in the garden, I water. I don't feed them, and I don't mulch them. I also have the new named varieties. The blooms are pretty when they first appear, but they don't stay true as they age. They actually look worse than the old no-name variety. But they are spreading and thriving. Sandy

I, too, have finally settled into the idea that when it comes to a good hair cut, you do get what you pay for - this is my truth. It makes me mad, but I'm resigned. I have also found that the same person will give me a great cut (how well it grows out determines how good the cut was) for about a year, then she will mess it all up twice and I'm on the hunt for another stylist. In this area, there are a bunch of them, so I'm lucky in that area. I tip very well. Which is another thing that bugs me, those who are renting their space (better stylists do) set their own prices and work for themselves charge the earth already - but still expect the big tip. I want a great cut so I pay my dues and tip very well. It keeps them happy when the sissors hit their hands. But I have my own little revenge - I color my own hair! I learned how to do it and I get great satisfaction out of keeping that money and doing it myself for about $10 in product.

OH HI TMJ!! So glad to see you back. I know I have been gone a lot myself but did miss seeing you post when I would pop in. Your yard pretties sound like a great plan C to me!!! I am so bad I never even got all mine out from their winter storage this year. Now I think why bother since in a couple of months they have to go back. On the brighter side they will just last me another year this way. Hehehehe Sorry about your trees and like every one else I can't wait to see the new yard pictures. Lovely pictures. What rose is that? It looks like a David Austin. I am just getting into growing DA roses and seeing someone with great results in my area gives me hope that DA roses will do well in Alabama. I currently grow floribundas and Hybrid Teas.

Glad you can now post pictures. Keep them coming.

So cottage-y too! Your roses and peonies are divine. Are those carnations or "pinks"? Yours look so healthy. I can never keep mine looking nice for very long. But I keep buying more because I love them so much! Perfect pairing with roses (nice scent combo too).

Faye, The rose is 'Queen of Denmark', or 'Konigin von Danemark'.

CMK, they are cottage pinks. The deep pink is 'Rose de Mai', and the pale/whitish one is 'Inchmery'.

Yes, pink is one of my favorite color in the garden. I may be a guy, but to me it is the essential cottage garden color. :)

Beautiful roses and peonies! I love the Queen of Denmark...I've thought about trying that one and now I might :)

What type of peony is that? It's just lovely!

LL, Thank you! I love Queen of Denmark. Try her and you will not be disappointed. Disease proof, drought resistant, heat tolerant, heavy blooming for a long period, good vigor, and more. I must warn of the thorns, though. However, the fragrance that you should be able to smell across your yard will make up for them.

Anyways, the peonies are just your typical Sarah Bernhardts. I planted them the first spring I moved in, and even with barely any water or fertilizer (and being moved once in the early spring), Those two plants have reliably bloomed lavishly.

All very pretty, but the peonies are to die for. I have never seen one, except in pictures.
