Wow - I could've sworn I posted in this thread earlier today, but it's not here (obviously!). Anyway, thank you so much for the suggestions. Right now, I may be leaning ever-so-slightly to going ahead and purchasing another pair of curtains, using a pair each on these smaller windows, and just stacking them back a bit more than they are on the front windows. (I think the fabric lends itself to that easily.) I won't do anything until after my trip though - am leaving tomorrow with "me Mum" for a couple of weeks in Cornwall and Devon, where I hope to gather up a lot more decorating inspiration! :-)

I'd vote for the basketweave (and not just because I used the floral on the wall in my kitchen). Mosaics generally aren't slippery - the grout lines make them grippier than a lot of large(r) format tiles. I have these crappy white 6x6's in every bathroom in this house (ugh) and you could like to kill yourself on those with wet feet. The issue with the floral is that onyx can be fragile. I got a pretty decent lot, but I also hand inspected every single sheet, removed the "uglies" and used two sheets to replace the rejected pieces. The marble also has some very distinct gray (which does not appear in your limestone) but does appear in my Corian, so I'm not bothered by it. And yes, I did use bright white grout and no, I would never use traditional white sanded grout on a bathroom floor. At a tile shop you'd likely have more choices in the white/cream family. I just think that overall the basketweave is a stronger choice for your space. If you got a very grey lot of the floral you'd be even more behind on tile - and stuck with it to boot. Lisa

My vote goes to #1: amazingcm's Pink and Brown Pinwheels. I like the pattern, the choice of colors and fabric, the "degree of difficulty" (can you tell I've been watching the Olympics?), and the overall look. (I thank all those who have made such nice comments about my quilt and the cat in the window! I wish I could have captured a picture with the lights out so you could see the glow-in-the-dark quilting but I just couldn't figure out how to take the long exposure photo.) Kate

Thanks all. Well, UE came through and the dog and I took a drive up the road about 3 miles (I drove) to get to the gas station with the better prices. This gas station was 6 cents cheaper a gallon than the closer station. Geez, I have not bought gas for quite a while. The prices are going back up. The price was like $2.73.9 a gallon for unleaded. Some days I have not even left the house except to water the plants, feed the birds and get the mail. What are you all paying in your part of the country? So if my body behaves tomorrow morning I will head on down the road. I am not sure if I should take the freeway since that might be jammed up. I will listen to the radio before I leave the house. They give the traffic report so you know what's stopped up. Oh, and the weather channel local on the 8's and its website show the road slowdowns too. Ok, if I make it there I will report to you all tomorrow and let you know how my 1st day went. Another thing to worry about - health insurance. I have to make sure I ask about that tomorrow. Oh, and I have to remember to stop at Ikea for an application.
