I thought I'd check in this morning since I haven't posted in a while (call me the lurker LOL); I am so happy to hear of a swap that is actually close to me! I have already started some cuttings, will keep checking back for details.

I'm so glad to hear so many positive responses. Felix, I hope you can come too. If Sylvia cannot drive you that day, maybe somebody else can get you a lift. If Swilly and crew are coming, we have probably have our photography taken care of. You all take some amazing pictures. auntiejan, I lurk far more than I post (so call me other lurker). I am glad we are close enough for you to make the trip over. Lisa, you will be missed.

I'd like to come and I might bring a couple friends with me. I'm not sure how many plants I'll have to bring but I always have plenty of seeds to share!

Melissa, I would love to come. Driving to Deland is easy, where driving to South Florida is quite difficult for me these days, so I'm happy to hear of closer swaps. And since I wasn't able to go to Willy & Swilly's (STILL grumbling about that), I would sure love to come to yours. I have written down the date, and I'm going to do everything possible to make it there! Christine, I still have stuff for you (rudbeckias, I think?) and can bring them then.

It will be fun to see your place, Melissa! Thanks for offering to host a get-together!

I like how this list is growing. Thanks to all of you for responding. We have a big place with plenty of parking so the more the merrier. As an added bonus for those who cannot make it (and for those who can, too!), Kara is having another swap in May. And of course for those from points further south, there is fawnridge's swap-a-que the weekend before. Fun for everyone!

Sounds like fun, I'll try to make it. Now I have a question. My house was rented out for about 12 years while I lived in less wonderful places and the yard/garden was not uniformly maintained. Among other things, spiderwort grows all over the yard and four o'clocks escaped from the planter and joined the spiderwort. I wouldn't even ask if anyone would want some except that I saw people actually buying spiderwort at the Leu Gardens sale last year.

Hi there! My name is Sarah and this sounds like a great time! I'm pretty new to gardening (this is my second season) but would love to talk to others in my area because I don't actually know anyone who gardens. And it's sure been a process. But a great one! I even have some extra seeds I could start now. Or maybe just bring the seeds? Or both. I went overboard on the seeds for my small space... I'll check back for more information if it's alright if I attend. Thanks for holding this- it's a wonderful idea and very generous of you to open your home.

Sarah, Welcome! We would love to have you come and meet all of your new best gardening friends. It really is a great time. I have met some of the Gardenweb people in person and not met others but it is a great community. I have been gardening for about 4 years now.

As for the seeds, if you can start some that would be good but also bring any extra you might want to trade since it is probably not time yet to start some of them. You can also find out much information about the seeds you bought but might not have planted yet and see how they have done for other people. We have people with encyclopedic memories about plants (I'm not one of them though unfortunately) who are great sources of information.

cjc45 - I have spiderwort in my yard (which was also neglected for many years) and like it but probably would not buy it on purpose either. You may want to start another thread called spiderwort though since some people who might have an opinion on it will not find your question in this one.
