nematodes and shasta daisies??

julianna_gardener

I have a large bed of shasta daisies that, after blooming this year, is inexplicably dying. The roots have rotted completely and are soft and mushy. The are very easily pulled out of the ground. When I opened the root up, on several of these plants I saw very, very small (1-2 mm) white worms. I thought nematodes were microscopic, but could it be nematodes. If not, what else. Also, how would you treat this bed as there are lots of other plants in there.
