WOW!! we have been getting a lot of rain the last few days and the Daylilies are loving it.

Catches me up for now.

I bet you get lots of rebloom scapes after all your rain. Nothing like rain to perk up those daylilies!

Lovely flowers today. I like them all but I just love INDY HEARTSTOPPER. I have it myself and it always looks good!

Wish rain would come this way. It is good that you are having a nice rain. That is a great pic of Morrie Ottie, i have always liked that daylily. Blues Music is pretty too! Cindy

Actually the 12 inches of water was just on the ground in my garden--The official rain gauge in my community registered 14 plus inches. The burger King 3 blocks from me had water up past the bottoms of their windows, and the town had LOTS of cars under water, and WAY too many houses had water inside. Spring Hill is about 11-12 hours south of me-I have friends that live there too. Thanks for the concern....

They said they were seeing a few 90's in Texas a few posts above.....well Oklahoma has now also seen their first 90's this last weekend as well. So the warming trend is moving north. I have some trees stuck up north waiting on a truck and I expressed my concewrns to the grower that I was getting past my comfort zone on planting time for conifers. Like most folks in the north he told me not to worry because the trees were still dormant due to the cold weather they were still in. What I try to get most northerners to realize is it's the shock factor that worries us.......not just the fact this tree will have to endure so much more heat that it has been used to throughout the summer, but nothing turns a tree into a crispy critter faster than for it to come from nice cool cloudy growing conditions and drop it right in the middle of a heat wave of 90 - 100 degree temps and full sun. mark

Actually, lightening is very good for the earth. It regenerates the magnetic field and stimulates things to grow. I tie pieces of nylon stockings on my tomato cages to help generate static electricity created by the wind's friction to help stimulate my tomato plants. Without the wind and the static it creates (lightening being a major result of that), plants would actually do very poorly and would die. We are having yet another cold spell - this is the fifth time that Winter has returned to Oklahoma (Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri too). I just set my tomatoes and peppers out this past week, and normally I would begin harvesting Early Girl tomatoes by May. We are getting lots of wonderful rain and I am greatly thankful for that, but these cold spells are ruining everything and preventing us from being to start a garden. All the plants that the local nurseries and garden centers have put out have been ruined over and over again. I am putting pots and buckets over my veggie plants, but cannot plant anything else or sow warm weather crops until this is finally over...and who knows when the heck that is going to happen? Even the Weather men are stumped by this crazy weather. What few roses have started to bloom (that usually bloom in April) are all ruined and puny looking things. They ain't fit for even the bugs to eat! Phooey! Now the weathermen are saying that with the tornado season just kicking off (May is our peak month), it is predicted to be the worst year for tornadoes ever. More of them and stronger ones too. Swell! Can't win for losing.

As long as the rainwater is draining; not a problem. If there is pools of water, then there would be a concern. Here we have had a cold spring but the cabbage, lettuce and other cool crops are doing fine . . .slowly but fine

I vote for Morrie Otte. What a cutie! The edge and watermark are just the perfect colors.

Would gladly take some of that rain...but I'm sure since we're planning to finally install rain barrels (which have been taking up space in our garage since last spring, ugh) we'll scare the clouds away.

sure wish some of that rain would come here.lots of gorgeous ones today, and my favorite one is INDY HEART STOPPER, but I also like MOTHER OF MANY a lot, too.

That's so good that you had lots of rain! I love Indy Heartstopper too, very pretty.
Anika, so funny about rain barrel :) We got one too, it sits in the garage too, and it is so dry here this year.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments the only problem with all the rain is that all the weeds and grass grow like crazy to, so guess what I have to do today dig more darn grass out of what beds I have it's a never ending job.

I really like Indy Heartstopper, but it may be because I'm from Indiana, lol, because they are all beautiful! Glad someone is getting rain. We lie in wait for a tenth of an inch. Chance tomorrow.

As always you have a terrific selection of beauties! You and I seem to have the same taste in daylilies because every one of them you have shown so far is one I would grow myself. My absolute favorite of all these lovelies is Indy Heartstopper! Talk about a perfect name for it...it does indeed make your heart stop for a second it's so beautiful. We had lots & lots of rain last week with some of the rivers overflowing so I know what you mean about all the weeds. But we can't complain too much when other are in a drought, can we? Do the cats still go outside when it rains? Lily doesn't mind getting wet, but Fat Cat Nemo is a big sissy and stays inside...LOL.

Beautiful group of daylilies. Indy Heartstopper is really striking, and I had no idea Mother of Many had such a defined watermark.
