pretty disheartening...

It has not rained one drop since July 8. I have tried to keep the annuals I planted alive and the pots going but it has been pretty much a lose lose battle. We are going out of town for 3 days next week so I have given up the battle. I pulled all of the wilting plants out and threw them away. The perennials from Bluestone are still small but all but 1/2 dozen or so are still trying. I will water well before we leave and hope for the best. I can honestly say that I will not be planting anything except drought resistant plants from now on. I think our climate will continue to give us this message and I don't want to throw away anymore money on plants and increase the water shortage by buying "thirsty" plants.

I am curious how many others are changing their planting habits to reflect the climate variations. Caroline
