Where's all the insects this year?

Has anyone else noticed the lack of all types of insects in their yards this year?

I've had very few ladybugs, sawfly larvae, slugs, lacewings, bees, those little bugs that fly out of the lawn when you walk on it, other unidentified bugs, etc. I've yet to see an aphid. I did, however, see two crickets, which I haven't seen for years. So far I've only seen two wasps.

There's been a fair number of white butterflies, and of course way too many mosquitoes.

I don't use chemicals, so I haven't accidentally killed anything.

Was it the harsh snowy winter, the cold wet spring, the terrible rainy and stormy summer, or a combination of both?

Has anyone else noticed this, or does someone out there have my insects? If you do, please send them home, LOL!
