We had lots of blooms this morning, but many didn't want to unfurl their sepals and others were very splotchy. These, however, were ready for their glamour shots.

They do all look like glamour shots. Very nice. I especially like ETCHED EYES and BILL NORRIS. So pretty.

Luscious! Navajo Talisman and Westbourne Little Lamb are tops for me in this set. But as I keep looking at them, it is harder to make up my mind.

Is Crazy Miss Daisy considered a UF or what? I like that star shaped look.

Kathy - Those backgrounds were a lucky accident. The first time I ever used this camera to photograph, my husband had a long lens on it and it focused on the flower and threw the backgrounds out of focus. I liked the effect so well that I always use that lens. Not only does it give that dreamy look to the photos, it blurs and obscures the grass and weeds in my garden. It looks like HF Young, but there are a bunch of clematis that have similar color and bloom time that it could be, including Fujimusume, Silmakivi, Lasurstern, Zara, Cezanne, and Diana's Delight. There are also some with similar color that bloom a bit later, including Prince Charles.

I'm so envious of all these beautiful blooms! I'm sort of in a dead season now that the daffodils and alliums are long gone, and the Iris too is past. Only a few early daylilies are staring to open, but it will be a month before they and the tall phlox are in full bloom. Annual marigolds and geraniums and gerbera daisies in pots are my only flowers until then. I'll just have to get vicarious enjoyment from everyone else's photos until late July when I can post my own. Gardenweed, I love the golden Chinese globeflower and the dark purple (almost black) sweet William and the beautiful pink mountain laurel. Digging, that bright pink peony is simply gorgeous. I really need to figure out where to plant some peonies. I love them, esp the more intense pinks, and I believe peonies do well in colder climates so they should thrive here. Wispfox, such amazing foliage!! I guess I would share your concerns about the weight on the garage roof, but I would also hate to see that greenery, and the privacy it must afford, go. Pixie, I love your pot with the sunflower motif. It really makes your front step setting. Lschibley, your peaceful little nook with the garden bench beside the brick walkway leading to your porch is wonderful with or without anything blooming.

Kate -- I do not know much about Akebono. I recently became interested in Japanese roses after falling for Mikado and looking into the history of the hybridizer. (even though Akebono and Mikado have different hybridizers) That's one thing I just love about roses, all have a story and there is so much to learn. I looked up the minis on the Kordes site (the label said it was a Kordes rose) and I think it is Pink Poetry Kordana. Lothlin -- Yeah, George Burns makes quite a statement! Grimaldi is loaded with blooms, so even though the opened form isn't my favorite, the splashes of color make it a keeper! Sara-Ann -- thank you! I was surprised at how nice the Dick Clark bush looked on only it's second year. Jim -- thanks! I am a huge fan of the striped roses. They always put on such a show!

These pictures are all gorgeous as usual. If I had to pick favorites, they would be Navajo Talisman, Cobalt Intrigue, and Westbourne Little Lamb. Robes For The Queen is beautiful as well.

Good Grief what a choice! I can narrow it to two and that's it. I love Chartered Course and Queen's Cape...oh wait, now I see it Robes For the Queen, of course! Beautiful. But they all are lovely, that is just special.

I'm not even gonna pick, my brain is in too much of a whirl. Your pictures are all just too beautiful, although maybe I could narrow it to 3: Etched Eyes, crazy Miss Daisy & Robes for the Queen. There, and I said I couldn't pick, but I might change my mind yet.

Glad I got back to GW in time to see these lovelies. Your pictures are wonderful and your flowers all look perfect. Hard to pick a favorite, but I think I'll go with CObalt Intrigue.

So many pretties to choose from, I can't pick a favorite. But because of your photos of Robes For The Queen, Debra, I had to pick that one up last year. This year it's three fans (two when I got it) and it's sending up a scape. Yay! I had Fortune's Dearest in the spot RFTQ is now, but it failed to make it through the winter, and I wanted a purple with white teeth. So far, I'm happy with it. If I get a bloom on both it and Dracula at the same time, this one's pollen is going on Dracula (and maybe a few others...lol!).

As usual, your pics take my breath away Debra! They are all so beautiful! My picks are Roaring Rapids and Westbourne Little Lamb. I love Robes for the Queen and had it at one time. Maybe one day I can replace it.
