The rock beds are gorgeous!!! I love rocks anyway...DH will never understand it, but they are so beautiful in the flower garden. You have a wonderful collection of clematis...could your unknown be HG Young?

And you daylily is very pretty too. we aren't likely to get tired of pictures, surely you know that by now.

Oh gosh that blueish clematis by the white fence is just stunning. Everything is stunning. You know I just love, love, love those raised rock beds of yours. Even the wooden bed looks great.

WOW!!! what a beautiful sight.Them CLEMATIS are gorgeous.so many blooms on them..I had a big purple one like that back in the mid 70's growing on my fence, it was so pretty, and my mother decides to walk in the yard a bit, and walks out there and see's all that big vine on the fence that had not started blooming yetand she starts pulling it off the fence, and ripped it up.My DH had a stroke and could not talk, but I had him sitting on the porch,and he went to yelling at her,NO..I have never been able to gow another one that big and nice, since..I too, love them rock beds. they are so pretty.
oh and we never get tired of photos here, just post lots of them. they are all beautiful.

Your clematis vines are glorious - especially the blue one spilling over the white picket fence. I wish I could grow them that well. They don't do as well in our heat.

Your bluish one does look like HF Young. Whatever it is, it is very pretty. Goodness, my clematis haven't really started yet with just Rebecca starting to bloom. Your way ahead of me and I'm a zone warmer. You must have an excellent micro climate.

Oh Goodness, Celeste. We love pictures of your gardens. Do you think we are being inundated? Hmmmm.... Nope. Not yet. More photos, please. Those of us who reside a bit further south get to relive some of the glorious days of spring yet again. And for some of us who are getting up in years, two springs in one year is terrific! Well, I've just made myself wonder how many springs are in my future. Well, if you keep posting such lovely photos, maybe twice as many as I thought!

It has been downpouring all day so I'm glad I got pictures when I did! The clematis look like soggy kleenex
and some of the vines let go in the wind. It's supposed to keep on pouring so all those roses opening are mush and the gorgeous peony blooms are laying in the mud. Fortunately I did snap some pictures yesterday and I'm going to do another post real soon. I appreciate all your warm and enthusiastic responses!

Kay...it could very well be H.G. Young but I never knew the name. It was a mislabel from one of the big box stores and was supposed to be Jackmanii which it obviously isn't.
Rita...I have pretty much exhausted my land of rocks after making so many rock beds. Now I'm getting them from Dad's land and carrying them in the car, much to DH's displeasure. I just love rocks so much and I like a natural look in my garden. It's not professional or perfect since the rocks I dig up are round and not great for stacking and I don't use cement, I just stack them. As you can see, they come in all colors, shapes & sizes.

Jean...that is a heartbreaking story about your clematis.
Goodness, your mother sounds a little like mom (before she got the Alzheimers). Why is it mothers think they own OUR things too?

Debra...they can be finicky here too. Sometimes one part of the vines will just turn limp and die, for no apparent reason. They seem to like my climate and I've always had good luck with them other than the wilting once in awhile.

Julia...I have never had these clematis bloom this early.
What a weird year it has been so far. I even have roses
blooming already that don't start until the 3rd week in June most years. I have quite a lot more clematis that are quite a way from blooming so I look foward to them hopefully bloom when they normally do.

Christine...LOL. What I love about this forum is that we are all from different zones across the country so we all get to enjoy more than just one spring and summer.

Nat....that bloom is what I refer to as a 'cheat' bloom. It was bought potted up through the mail so it came from a greenhouse. I also have some daylilies starting to bloom or sending up scapes that came from Maryott last fall so they're confused, thinking they're still in California.

We can never get to many photos of your beautiful garden. I love the clematis and Advante Garde is looking spectacular with it's dusting of raindrops. Your raised beds are beautiful where do you get all the energy to build them.

Linda...Until I got attacked by the dog 5 weeks ago, I have always had an over-abundance of energy. I am slowly getting back to my old self and am already planning more rock beds. I know I don't need more things to take care of or more workload but I just can't help myself. P.S....I don't sleep much...haha.

hostabuff....The clematis I grow that blooms the longest,
ALL summer non-stop is 'Roguchi'. It's like the Energizer Bunny...it keeps going & going.
