Sequoia sempervirens in 0F to 10F?

My Sequoia 'santa cruz' I planted early spring still has it's Monrovia nursery tag stating it is hardy to minimum temps of 0F to 10F.

I go by celsius- I gather 0F is -17.7C. Can they actually handle that?

The tree is about 6' tall, and mulched it heavily. But didn't think it would actually live until I saw this tag today.

I also have a potted 3' tall 'aptos blue' which I will store over winter at a friends place in zone 8. It's still very soft and already showing discolouration/damage at -6C. I actually thought the blue would have been hardier, but it looks to have been over fertilized from the nursery making it soft...
