Beautiful flowers, beautiful arrangements. I do love to grow flowers, plan nice combinations to grow in containters and flower beds, but am no expert at flower arrangements in vases.

I'm strictly a 'pick-what-I-like-and-plunk-in-the-vase' flower arranger altho do enjoy having them in the house occasionally.

I love to arrange flowers. Love it. When I was working in town I used to always have a huge bouquet on my desk - they were the talk of the office. I think arranging the vase helps you to grow in the garden - the combinations of color and texture...

My roses are a bit fried now from the hot temps we had last week. They last so much longer, both in the garden and in the vase, when the temps are cool! We had a long and cool spring which was unusual and virtually unheard of for us here in sunny and warm southern CA, but very enjoyable as the blooms lasted weeks--'twas heavenly!!! I was ill so did not gaet any photos. :( Your climate-- and other northerners-- is probably often long and cool like that and all summer too--count your blessings!!!

One more good flush in the fall for me, if the temps aren't too hot. Keeping fingers crossed. Will live vicariously through your beauties until then.

They are beautiful Carrie! Good luck competing! I think that you matched the arrangements with the vases very nicely in size and height, I know that is often something they look for.
Depending on the class, they will look at individual flowers too. I've been watching the individual and arrangements at our flower show for many years now. Sadly it moved to a location that is very inconvenient for me, so I don't go or show anymore. I never submitted for an individual item though, only a larger show display.

Those are all simply Gorgeous,look good enough to eat as they say!! You have a real knack for arranging!! I can grow them pretty good,but i suck at arrangements,or at least i think so,TFS

Oh my gosh how talented you are. I love the them all and liked the little flat one too mixed with the candles. I make arrangements all the time and will def have to attempt to use some of your ideas. Thanks for sharing and good luck in your competion. Judy

Nice work Carrie! Your photos and arrangements both look very professional, a real feast for the eyes, scrumptious! I esp. love the dark and white lilies, but they all are excellent. It might be useful to keep notes on type and quantities used, for your own reference if nothing else. I surely hope your entries work out just as nicely as these. Good luck!

Carrie, I'm going to reiterate what Prairiegirlz said about your photography. The bouquets are absolutely to die for, each and every one. But the way you staged and phototgraphed them is exceptional and very professional. Very nice, creative work and I do hope you place this year! You are so talented.

Oh my goodness, thank you for the lovely compliments, support and well wishes. That's so nice. I really appreciate each one.

I am still scratching my head over the mantel arrangement and the large hall arrangement. What's the difference between a large hall arrangement and a large bouquet anyway?

I think for the large bouquet I'm going to use a large white wash pitcher with Annabelle Hydrangea. No fillers, just clean and simple. And for the large hall arrangement, I'm thinking of making a topiary using an ice bucket for the base filled with floral foam and top with moss. Then using a ball of floral foam covered with moss and roses for the top. I'll see if I can find a super straight stick for the trunk, if not I will use dowel. But I'm not sure this will be large enough. Well, I will just have to try it and see!

The frog vase isn't a vase at all. It's a tobacco jar that was passed down to me from my Grandmother. It is much older than I and is one of my favorite family pieces. I don't think he is a character from "Wind in The Willows".

So very, very pretty. I love the Queen Ann's Lace mixed with the roses. It give them a Victorian look.
