My first lily bloomed!

I know it's late in the year but they were planted late so they are all budding but this is the first one to bloom.. there are a few others in bloom now but I didn't take pics of them yet.

This is a Black Out lily... from Brent & Becky's. Y'all might remember me talking bout them.

The annual seeds are also blooming too... won't do that again though next year as it's too hard to keep the weeds out.

*edit* I just noticed the little visitor on the top of one of the buds!! Good thing I didn't see him/her when I was taking the photos... although I did get the web in my face when I was bending over... UGH!!!

What a pretty lily, congratulations. I have had one plant bloom 2x!!! My first lily blooms!!! Notice the lovely pond they live in!??? I'm redoing my half acre(had to put up a deer fence) and so am planting like a beast, now that I can!!!) so haven't gotten to the pond...hopefully this weekend I'll be done planting and will get to the pond next!mmmust not leave yaaard...mmmust not buy plants.... I have the same three as Sharon has. I have over wintered mine just one winter. I planted 3 of each. This spring I have 3 big stems and lots of babies by each. I'm wondering though if it isn't better to buy in the spring just like the OT's. My OT's that I planted last spring are doing great too. Sometimes I want that edit button too Sharon. Shelley

Hi Cheryl- Even before I read the caption I was looking at the picture thinking it looked like BLACKOUT. I have it too and its a very pretty lily.

Thanks guys... they are very pretty. Not as big a flower as I thought they'd be but still nice. I'm sure they'd look a lot better if the annuals I planted in with them weren't taller... but I guess with this being their first year I should've expected them to not be quite as tall as they were sposed to be. Oh well, next year I won't have anything but mulch around them.. although the annuals are blooming their heads off and look quite pretty!.

I'll post more photos later.. once I get them uploaded.
