I remember that my first year I didn't have a lot of blooms, but the second year was really something... at the height of it, I think I had nearly 20 blooms at a time on the seven or eight plants.

Very Very Pretty

I bought this WL at the end of the summer last year in Sept. I just left it in the bottom all winter after trimming. This spring when the first few leaves came up, I pulled it out and added fertilzer tabs and back in it went. This is a Clyde Ikins waterlily. They call it a changeable, it goes from pink, yellow, then ivory. Yes, this is my second year. Pond was built and running first week of May 2009. It's been a blast and lots of hard hard work, but have loved every minute.

Got to add this to my want list. Beautiful!

It is gorgeous. My pond isn't huge, just 9 x 11. I wanted a variety of color in one plant. So I get 3 shades in blooms and the colors in the leaves are really pretty even without blooms. Today, there are 2 new blooms open and they are being held above the water about 3 inches. Looks really near. I'll get a pic and post it tonight. For now, its back to work. :(

How lovely! And it smells like vanilla, so what a bonus. Your fish look so intensely orange in the pics. Very pretty.

They really are VERY orange. They outshine the blooms, that's for sure. Here are the pictures that I promised earlier showing the blooms standing above the water.

Gorgeous! How deep is your pond? The water is sooo clear! I am wondering how close to the surface I should put my lilies...do you think a new pond will be too cold for the lilies after living in a tub for so long? How many pond tabs do you add?

A friend of mine gave me one that has very similar leaves and blooms, but instead of the yellowish tones, they are more of a combination of apricot/pink. Your lily is very pretty.

I built my first pond in July last year and redug it in august to enlarge :-D Im seing my first ever lily bud coming closer to the water surface every day at the moment, and Im so excited.

I love the pond life too :-)

Thanks, angelcub. Glad you found the pics. I have and still look at everyone's pictures. They have been my inspiration the whole way through the building. The 'outside the pond' garden will be my next project.
