If you really want to go with the plum door, choose a color that is either from the complimentary color family, or the triadic family.
If the compliment, you would go to the chartreuse green family.
If the triadic, you would choose colors from the blue-green, and yellow-orange families.
Personally if I was to do the plum door, I would paint the house a pretty mint green, and the trim a nice caramel color. Or even vise-versa.
OR paint the house a pale chartreuse, and the trim a darker version of the same color.

I actually like most of them...but I would think the more earthy ones..especially the last one..might appeal to the younger first time home buyer crowd since so many of the newer built homes use that color scheme.....I can't have a new home but I can have the same look with charm of an older home...I dunno..just a thought...

I like the yellow the most.

For resale, I would choose one of the more neutral tones; I would vote for No. 2 if I were buying.

I like #4 the best, but I don't think any of them would be bad.

I don't think you can wrong with any of the color combinations. They all look very nice.

I guess my vote would be for the last one, for much the same reasons as Keesha. Those colors seem to blend nicely with the wooded lot you're on, too.

When my neighbor stopped by, she said she would buy my house without looking at the house, just based on a gardens. I am in the same category.
I realise most people are not like that, and pay more attention to the actual house.
If I may suggest, plant more color around the house to attract broader variety of potential buyers. It is worth investing in a curb appeal to get "more dollar" out of the property.

I vote #2 as well. I have been in real estate many years and I will say a "bright" door is a good thing when you are selling although I agree on the complimentary color idea above.

Your house is GORGEOUS and all of the options look good. But if it were up to me I would go with the #1 or #6--in part because I don't like purple very much.

I remember reading somewhere that yellow houses are appealing to buyers. I do like #1, and it might work with a deep plum colored door.

I prefer #4 to the grayer browns (in #2 & 3) because it works better with the color of your roof.

I don't care for the door color in #1 & 6 ... looks like cat s**t brown to me! But a door is easy to paint and that could be changed right before you list.

Your front door looks much better with the semi-circular area over it painted the same color as the trim, instead of the siding color, imo.

#2 is my favorite.

I like #2 the best, but #1 looks good too. I once heard an expert say if you want to sell a house, paint it yellow. I'm not sure why people like yellow. A lot of people are bashing the plum, but I like plum. Of course I've been told I'm a bit odd many times, lol.

Nothing says the classic home to me more than a big yellow house. ( with green shutters!) I vote for #1 hands down. but i dont like the door color you have on the yellow oneIjsut love yellow houses. Your home is a classic style home.

i did liek the others too- very nice. but i love yellow homes.i thougth everyone did..LOL
