Picea engelmannii vs Picea pungens

Searching on the internet I saw it it very hard to distinguish between them. Especially if they are 1 - 1,5 years old seedlings. Unfortunately, they moved my pots and mixed them so I don't know now which is which. I had 5 P. engelm and 12 P. pung seedlings.

Is there a way to definately tell them apart at this stage? I think all my engelm. were about 3 in. tall and the pungens were taller at 4-5 in tall but I'm not sure. Is there distinct difference in growth rate of seedlings so I can use it to saperate them or will I have to wait 3-4 years to see more differences? I hope I don't have to wait until I get some cones.....

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Fotis
