Group Rooting Experiment using 'super absorbent polymer crystals'

Anybody interested in an experiment in seeing if the addition of these super absorbent crystals to their rooting medium aids in the propagation of cuttings?

I have 10 pounds of "water-keep", so I have plenty to share.

There will be NO COST TO YOU, I'll even spring for the postage.

1. I send you 20g of crystals.

2. You mix them into whatever your normal potting medium at the recommended rate:

20g (ca. 1 Tbsp) of dry crystals to 3 Gallons by volume, of rooting medium.

3. Follow whatever your normal protocol is to root an equal number of cuttings in the amended medium, and in an unamended medium, under the same conditions (side-by-side)

4. Report your results back here.

I'd be interested to know your observations in water consumption as well as success/failure rates, and any other observations you deem note-worthy.

This is not restricted to fig cuttings, so feel free to try other cuttings and see what happens.

Open to the first 10 folks to respond in the affirmative.

(Just so I don't take a beating on postage ;-)
