Hi Linda! - great pics - Is SANFORD INTERMEZZO a First Flower Open?? I was thinking of getting that one, but it looks a little less flashy than the hybrid's pic unless that's the FFO on that fan? I'm so jealous of your Voodoo Magic - I've been wanting that all year! Is it increasing well for you?? Looks fabulous! - Chris in CA

Thanks everyone - I'm glad you liked them! I have some of my minis in a raised bed in the center of my garden and I like having them up higher so I can see them better. The rest are in front of the bigger daylilies. Another thing I like about minis is that they usually take up less space than the larger daylilies, so I have room for more of them. Mrs F W Sanford is PACKED full of fragrance. I bought this rose because I hadn't heard of anyone that was growing it and I wanted to see what it was all about. I knew that first summer it was a keeper. It has gotten bigger and fuller every year. What do I think of The Green Rose? It is a great conversation rose in the garden. Something different. Thank God it makes a good bush. Also when I do a rose show I always bring a spray with me to enter in the OGR class. Same reason. To introduce people to something different in the "rose world". It also makes a great filler in a bouquet.

It's interesting that your Dearest Valentine started blooming about the same time mine did. DV never opens fully here until about 8 or 9 on a hot day -much later if we have cool overnight temps. Spring Mystique has a gorgeous pattern. I can see why you brought that one with you. Clown Parade looks pretty in your phot. Mine is always in the sun, and I never get a good photo of it. Debra

Seedlings From the Past Couple Days

How beautiful they are Debra! If you are wearing something with buttons, they have to be bursting with pride to have created so may beauties. the Dancing Flamingo seedling is my kind of bloom: gorgeous! The color is a rose on my Monitor. I really like the edges and the color on the Destined to see seedling. The first to Stenciled Infusion seedlings have a LOT OF stenciled infusion showing, and the third one has the blue which is very pretty. Of course, Freedom of Expression X Violet Sabrewing #1 has a UF form which I like so well and I really like that one. That last one looks like a large bloom and is very pretty. I always like Cexy Samantha seedlings. The Dancing Flamingo and the third Stenciled Infusion seedling, the Destined to See X Unk, likely Green Mystique seedling and Freedom of Expression X Violet Sabrewing #1 stand out to me, but you have to realize I am drawn to UFs kay

Yes that is the FFO on that fan of SANFORD INTERMEZZO, so I think that it will get better and better as bloom continues. VOODOO MAGIC is an awesome flower. I planted 2 individual fans of it here in my garden in early May. Even the FFO was stunning. I can't give you any info regarding increase, but would highly recommend it on just the beauty and size of the flower.

To answer the cross questions.....this morning I Voodooized just about everything that was open. That included 3 blooms of JN. It really simplified my morning pollinating routine. I just decided that since I love VM sooooo much...what the heck. That and I was feeling somewhat lazy today. :-)

Love the pattern on Julie Newmar! The edge is delicate enough that it doesn't distract from the intricate EZ.

It's been added to my ever growing wish list.
