Anybody having trouble with Photobucket?

For the last two days I can download pictures to Photobucket but can't edit them. When I try to edit them the picture starts to load but the screen immediately freezes up.

Anybody else having this problem or do I have some sort of glitch going on with my computer?

Mine still won't load, I waited two minutes, nada....

I wanted to post a follow up to Silvia's post on what survived and is growing; lettuce, broccoli, onions, radishes - BUT I'm not going to post LARGE PICS....

No new software or changes I'm aware of except for automatic virus updates. I have a message into PB but I see Picasa looming on the horizon.

I know that the exchange for free is ads. But it seems like a big increase. Again, could be this tiny screen and my lack of skills with the mousepad. Boy is it nice sitting in my recliner to type on the computer tho! Kathy

I think pill bugs (which interestingly enough are not bugs-they're crustaceans) can and will eat plants on occasion but in general prefer to eat rotting stuff like milipedes. Now, say you have some tomatoes that got left on the vine too long, especially ones that are growing on the ground - or got damaged in some way I think that would be an open invitation to a host of creepy crawlies, pill bugs included. IMO what is more likely to happen is that something else comes along, causes damage to the plant and roly polys come in for a meal or dead or dying plants later. I have tons of these guys in my garden and anyone who uses mulch I garuntee does too. But, they have never caused any obvious damage, or at least none that I have attributed to them, and I tend to count them as beneficial detrivores like worms and millipedes. Just my $0.02 and Im sure that plenty of people will disagree and they may be right, Im certainly no expert.

Hi Tom

I am still waiting for your pictures on the garden survivors. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the computer problems.

Willy is working in Washington, comes home the weekends and Cheryl left already :-(

But I remember that we changed the size of the pictures going back to the beginning and changed the setting to the size we want. Photobucket is not the easiest thing to work on, it should not be like that.

Hope that you figured out soon.

Still no luck and no response from PB. I'll wait two more days and then I'm moving permanently to Picasa.

do you know that there are online resources to resize or itty bitty programs to do it on your computer?
Look at Aviary for resizing onine and screen captures and such... http://aviary.com/ and try this one for just resizing, both free... http://www.photosize.com/

I didn't try to edit pictures when I posted yesterday but when I tried to import them into my posting, I clicked on the HTML like I normally would and it turned blue but when I went to paste into posting, the word paste wasn't dark and it wouldn't let me do it. I tried several times but no luck. (This is when I clicked HTML under the picture). Then I scrolled down and saw the same possiblities on the left on the page, tried it, didn't work. The words more options was also there so clicked on it. It said if it didn't work click here to post to another site. Clicked on it and then went to paste and it worked. I know this sounds confusing but maybe you will figure it out when you see the page. As far as editing, I do that with the program on my computer.

Maybe I am misunderstanding but it sounds to me like you might be missing a step. Click on the HTML line to highlight it, then right click on it to 'copy' it. Then when you go to paste it into the message 'paste' should show up as an option.

I still love Photobucket and don't have problems with it so if I can help I'm glad to do it. I do major edits with PhotoShop on my computer but often use the edit functions in Photobucket for resizing, cropping, etc.

I've always loved the editing functions in PB but I have no explanations for my problems and their lack of response isn't comforting....RIP PB.

Gimp is good image editing software. You can download it for free and it has many of the features that Photoshop has. That is what I use.
