Here in zone 4 we are enjoying asparagus, radishes, spinach, rhubarb and new onions.

Whoever waters the tomatoes gets to pick and eat ripe blueberries here. I can hardly wait for ripe figs.

I gave a bag of zuchinni to an innocent visitor yesterday.

Well the wet cool weather has been good for some things, we're eating Rhubarb it has grown huge this year.
Lettuce is doing great, been picking it for awhile now.
Using some of the egyptian onions for green onions.
I put some bush peas in which are flowering now, looking forward to fresh peas.
The pear tree has a good fruit set this year, thanks to the mason bees.
The raspberries are starting to flower but I think the fruit might not be very sweet if we don't get some sun, the same thing with the strawberries.
The tomatoes, cucs, and zucchinni might not make it :o(.
I have some hot peppers growing in the green house and thinking of going to the garden center to buy a couple more tomatoes and growing them in the green house.

first picking of yellow squash was Monday - yummy, lettuce is done, carrots have all been pulled, radishes are on the downside, zuchinni is about gerkin size. We really need a good soaking rain to keep the plants going tho. We have tons of marble size tomatoes. Chives, parsley, dill, basil have all flavored meals......

Haven't harvested anything except arugula this year. There are lots of onions, but I'm not much of a fan of eating them at the green stage. In spite of spring seeming to arrive early, the excessive period of high winds has slowed progress in the produce garden. The rabbits caused problems.

I have to replant my corn, potatoes, chilies, cantaloupe, and some of the limas. The squash and radish seedlings are doing well, thus far. Two jalapenos survived the winds. Never did get around to planting the green beans...

I've almost got the produce garden in order. One more day of fencing work ought to do it, then I can plant again.

We are having lots of strawberries, lettuce and green onions, have beets almost ready.

I haven't checked under the potatoes yet ;should be some soon.

Asparagus is over for us. The cherry tree is hanging full and starting to turn red, so they will be next.

Up until recently we had srawberries. Yesterday I gave a very first ripe blackberry of the season to one of my kids.
Peaches are abundant this year, though it will be a while till they are ripe. Rabbits don't mind the green ones though.
Marjoram, parsley, rosemary and chives accompany my salad each day.
Tomatoes, eggplant, cucs, green peppers are growing every day - it's a joy to watch them mature and anticipate a wonderful harvest.
Figs and lemons are still babies.
There is so mach tasty things in the garden. Before you asked, i did not realise how many. So, thanks!

Eggplants have been ready for a couple weeks and herbs also. Tomatoes are thick on the plants and I cleared out all, I think, of the ones with blossom end rot. Huge peppers will be red soon I hope. That is all for this year. I am taking note of what you are all harvesting and will expand my edible garden in the fall. c

My Stella cherry had cherries this year *woo hoo*. They were delicious.

I have a baby pumpkin, almost ripe cherry tomatoes, dill and garlic chives.

What's the secret to growing onions and garlic? I can't grow them. What am I doing wrong???

Do you plant garlic in the fall, Edna? I have mixed results with garlic, sometimes it doesn't produce well. I have no idea why.

My onions get planted in early spring. My soil is sandy. I add some amendment, but it is still primarily sand. The onions do really well here. I water them fairly often.

Garlic should be planted in the fall, at least it is up here. I haven't planted garlic recently but I have grown it. I use to plant around the end of October, in late spring I'd cut the scapes off after they formed for stir fry, delicious. I learned this from my chinese neighbor, he also does a dish with lettuce after it has bolted, using the stem and he does another dish with potatoes which are cut into shoestrings and then cooked with? how he keeps them crisp is a mystery.

We're enjoying basil, parsley, thyme and cherry tomatoes. The stupid HOT HOT weather has caused the cilantro to bolt but it was good while it lasted.

Cilantro (which is now bolting), purple peppers (we had 2 that had already started before I bought it). I need to pick radishes, and can start picking spinach, basil, sage and dill (but haven't needed those yet). I also have a couple of green tomatoes on my Early Girl.

I JUST picked my first two strawberries this morning. Thanks Remy!! I had them with my lunch. Sooo delicious!

We've also been using chives, oregano, parsley, dill, and basil. Waiting for the veggies to get going.

The peaches are just starting to ripen...leave it to the birds to alert us to this fact;-) Still have a few navel oranges hanging on the trees, and some lemons and limes are forming on the younger trees. Also have been enjoying nibbling on the strawberries, chives, garlic chives, basil, and the tomatoes are getting there. Oh, and the rose scented geranium is tasty with lemon verbena in iced tea... I'm eating Top Ramen BECAUSE of my cottage garden..lol (I spend wayyyyyyyyy too much every spring!!!!!)
Oh..the question was "what are you eating FROM your cottage garden"....nothing yet, but soon I will have mariachi peppers, early girl tomatoes and cherry tomatoes :)

I've been enjoying a bumper crop of sugar snap peas and I need to pick the rest of them this weekend because it's been hotter than Hades here. The lettuce has bolted and the oregano is hung up in the kitchen to dry. I need to transplant my strawberrries- they've been sitting around in pots getting dried up. Last year we only had 6 strawberries, but they were incredible. I'm moving them to a stackable planter so I save ground space.
