No rain soaked blooms today!! ;-) (lots of photos)

The rain missed us today so I was able to make some photos to share with ya'll.

These are all FFO's except the one of Ricter. I just wanted to show ya'll the clump shot of it with 6 huge blooms open at once. :)

Love this early blooming Lambertson.

This was a bonus from Bill Maryott with my fall order. I'm really liking it.

CC was given to me by a good friend and I love the intense golden yellow/orange.

Of course you gotta love CIB. Hey, it's red ain't it? LOL

AL has never had a bad bloom on it since it came to my garden last year. It's perfect every time, and the heat doesn't affect it at all. I'ts as pretty at 6 pm after a hot humid day as it was at 6 am.

This is the debut bloom of PC in my garden. It was new last year and didn't bloom. I'm thinking it'll be a keeper.

And here's one of our GS resting in the shade while I was making the photos. She actually belongs to my adult son, but he lives in an apartment over my barn/workshop and MJ stays in the house with me all the time. She's my constant companion in the gardens and hasn't a clue that she doesn't really belong to me. :) She's 12 years old but in terrific shape and about as smart as most humans, and probably smarter than some. LOL

Jan, I love the photo of GS. He is really beauiful.

All the pictures you posted are really terrific. Ricter is one I traded for a couple of years ago and I can't wait for the blooms this year!. You are right about CC. That color is intense. AL is one I am going to need I see. It's very beautiful. Thanks for all the lovely pictures...Ellie

Oh wow.I love these DL's.Lace Cookies is gorgeous,and Love,Love that CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL andARTIC LACE, and I just love the BITONES.This one is especially beautiful...Love MJ, too.Shes really pretty.

THANK YOU to you all for taking the time to respond to my post. I am delighted that I was able to still get some nice photos here and there to keep the beauty alive for months to come. Even thought the majority of blooms were lost, there were still some little 'miracles' in the garden, for which I am grateful. roseberri....First of all, thank you for your kind comment. Geshwind's Orden truly wants to be a climber, but I don't have climbing space where 'he' is so I have him pegged down in a circular fountain-shape which seems to agree with him so far. But he isn't a small shrub and grows very lanky and up, up, and away. There is only one bloom in June, but it is prolific. It will get some blackspot later in the season without spraying, but during its bloom time it is quite healthy. (I don't spray my old roses). I like how the inner petals are a deeper pink than the outer ones. Its quite pretty. sherry....Leda IS one cool chick. I love how her white flower emerges from a blood-red bud, showing just a trace of red on the petal edges. I don't know if she would be happy in FL or not since she actually seems to enjoy my cold weather. Anybody else know? aliska....My Madame Plantier has never repeated. She is strictly once-blooming here. I didn't know she could repeat. But then a lot of roses that supposedly repeat, don't always here (too short a growing season perhaps?). Of my roses listed above, the only repeaters are Paul Neyron, Mrs. John Laing and Louise Odier. I have heard it said that John Hopper 'can' repeat, but mine hasn't so far. To All.... Today it was (gasp!)...SUNNY! All day long, nothing but blue above and warm sun shining down. The old roses are mostly done for and the deer returned again last night to munch yet again, and I saw the first japanese beetle today...but it was SUNNY!!!! YAY! hello from OKlahoma, rain indeed!!! all day tuesday bit more today. I was going to take pics, but the mosquitoes and the rain and all that I didn't bother. ha. your pics look very nice, love the siloam dls. I have a few of that purple stuff, I let just a few come up because I love the color and contrast of the foilage with my daylilies and other plants, but I pull them out before flowering. I let just one go to make seeds the next year because they really will grow everywhere like a weed ! here's hoping for some sun soon....

Juliet. Your dayliles are just beautiful.I love every one of them,and your gardens is gorgeous.Love that Hosta's and Astilbe..I have 4 hosta plants in big pots.Have no where I can plant them in shade,so I put them in pots and set them up under a Magnolia tree,and have to keep them sprayed to keep the deer from eating them up.last year they found them and only left me some stubs.I have Sum and Substance in a 24inch pot,as it gets huge. I injoyed your photos of the garden alot.Thanks for sharing it. Jean

well,I accidently hit submit too soon.. clangeek.I been trying to get this rain to go to California, but, it just wont move. Kay<I almost stayed inside and not go for photos, but,I just had to go out and see if anything was left at all.so I was very surprised to see some blooming. I love the clarity of your photos, Jan.

The near-whites are really appealing to me these days, and since I just planted ARCTIC LACE, I'm particularly happy to see how pretty that one is.

MJ is a beauty -- and she does look like a young 12-year old.

What a nice group of pictures, Jan. I think I have only one bi-tone and it is an unknown. Chaotic Symmetry makes me want to check out more of those.

MJ is gorgeous. She looks very contented to be with you and is so photogenic!

These are just great shots. I have CIB coming so hopefully it will turn out as great as yours.

I also planted this year a bitone-KAREN SUE - as I don't have too many bitones in the garden.

My niece has two German Shepherds one of which she trained for Search and Rescue. Not sure if she will ever train the other one. MJ looks to be quite happy to be part of the photo op ;-).

Oh how I love the color of CARNIVAL IN BRAZIL!! That one got the heart rate up a bit.

This year I bought some new whites to add to the garden. I added PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN, SMALL WORLD SNOW FOX, and WEDDING GOWN. Your pic of ARCTIC LACE is very pretty. I think I'd like to add ARCTIC LACE too. If I can manage to come up with the $$ to buy it.

Mary Jane is a treasure, the flowers aren't bad either. Like Arctic Lace and Patsy C the best.
I'm really busy today, got roofers here (new roof), its very noisy.
Took more pics as usual, my Dream Candy is blooming today. I think I got it because you had such a beautiful pic of it last year.
Dabbing pollen and then watering is really keeping me busy and tired.
Thanks for posting all your lovelies.

Awww.. look at that cute baby! She looks like a pup, not 12! Alright, well maybe the grey on her muzzle gives it a way a wee bit, but only because I know what I am looking for! :o) Oh, yeah, the flowers! Lovely photos... I am REALLY diggin' Metaphysical Moment! I keep meaning to put more Lambertsons in my garden, but $$ only goes so far! Maybe now that my plants are getting big, I can start trading, won't that be fun!

Just glorious...flowers and puppy! I really like Ricter, but Carnival in Brazil topped the pack for me. The dark colors with the lighter watermarks and edging have really caught my attention this last year. Thanks for the fix!

Your dog has such a lovely sweet face. She looks like she's just waiting for you to do something so she can come and join in the fun.

As for daylilies, all really nice but my favorite is IN STYLE. I have this one from Maryotts too. I can't remember if I bought it or it was a bonus. Knowing how generous Bill Maryott is with the bonus plants, it probably came as a bonus. It is a particular favorite of mine as well.

Gorgeous blooms and super photography, Jan!

I'm choosing Lace Cookies to put on my new wish list. That coloring would contrast or blend nicely anywhere in my garden.
