Iouone..would you believe CH has been blooming since the middle of April? Never fails to be my first to bloom each year.

Jan, what lovely pictures and I was beginning to worry about blooms. I went outside and looked at mine and finally spotted a couple of scapes. I think they must be very late this year or I am overly axious. Only scapes on the stellas too but I don't like them anyway! Oh yes, I do have a couple of picture to post. One of my new ones this year..ledgewood's Evening Sunset. Also a ffo from lies and Lipstick. It came with the scape on it but some of the buds dried up . this bloom is not fantastic but it's a daylily bloom! Yours are lovely and I liked them all!! Ellie

Ellie, I'm so glad you felt well enough to venture out into your garden. Sounds as though you're making improvement! :)
Glad you enjoyed my photos, and I love your LES. I have scapes on my Ledgewoods Silver Lining and my Ledgewoods Christmas Widow, both new in my garden this year. I think my dl's are slower to begin blooming this year than before, but that's ok, cause they are really looking great and have more scapes than I've ever seen on them. I should have a great bloom season when it does get here. Maybe your's are the same, sure hope so. Take it easy now, don't over do before you're fully recuperated. :)

Wonderful way to start off the season Jan! You have that new camera working real nice too! That MOM is really gorgeous!...hehehe I made a funny...MOM..here on Mother's Day weekend...;) ok..not so funny...but made me laugh...LOL Enjoy your plant sale/trades.

Jan, lovely pictures! I'm hopeful for my Moon Over Monteray after seeing yours....I replaced mine after struggling with one for too long. The replacement looks pretty good, so we'll see. After living in Monterey, CA, for a few years, I thought I just had to have it! Of course, perhaps Salter was thinking of somewhere else, given the spelling.

Have you been over to Tinkers to see the pictures of MOM? Yours looks like what I'm expecting/hoping...but those over there I'm not sure about except the one by Ida.

GG...guess where my MOM came from? Yep, Ida's!!! Maybe that's why it looks like hers, you think. Sure hope yours is what you expect. Those other two on Tinkers, especially that bright yellow one, doesn't even resemble MOM to me.

Ellie, nice pics and it's ESPECIALLY nice to see you post. LES was new to me last year (sent from the Abajians with four prolifs on a double fan. I think those prolifs all made it, too).

What beauties to start the season, Jan! I don't even have scapes yet, so I'll have to live vicariously through GW for a while. I really like 'Charlotte Holman,' and I'm surprising myself by really liking MOM. I don't usually like sculpted/ruffled daylilies that much, but MOM just glows. You sure took a fantastic pic of it.

It is so nice to see pics of new season DLs. I don't even have a scape on BITSY yet and she is always first. My daughter's Bitsy has scapes and she is about 35 miles further north. Boohoo.

Jan, I want to steal your thunder a bit so I can tell the folks what been ailing me. I know it shouldn't be on this side but I will post a pic so as to keep in line!

I had an episode about three weeks back where the Dr thought I had a mini stroke. It turned out that, that wasn't the case but I spent a couple of days in the hospital anyway! I went to Fl with my sis and started feeling a little sick in mid Ga. by the time I got to Orlando, I was ill but able to get around. we went to Abajians garden. He is a lovely man. Then to Stamiles ( guy pierce ) but they were closed. Then on to Trimmers where he was closed but we looked at his dls. fabulous garden. I was supposed to visit Phillip Reilly but he was a no show! Anyway by this time I was really sick so we started back home. I finally went to the Dr and had.. Pneumonia, pleursy, ear infection, sinus infection and an intestional infection. I have been treated at home and am on the mend but still weak and not able to do much, but take pix. Not that I have that many to take yet! Here is one I ordered from Guy Pierce a couple of months ago. For a ffo, it's lovely. BTW, Frank Smith was a few miles from my sis's house in Apopka but wouldn't let us come to his garden. No exceptions! Oh well, I didn't feel like it anyway! Thanks for all of your well wishes...Ellie

Morning Ellie, no problem, you can steal my "thunder" anytime, just keep posting your pics. !! So glad you are feeling better. Oh, BTW, your pic has moved....can't see it this morning for some reason. :(
I've got a few more blooms open today, so maybe I'll post more pics later. Hope all you Mothers have a wonderful day and hope none of you or your loved ones were touched by the storms yesterday and last night. Let's keep those that were, in our prayers today.

Folks I had the best time yesterday. Got to see 3 gardens, 2 were full of daylilies. Oh folks Jans pictures do not do her yard justice they are even better in person. I do not know how she does it all by herself. Ellie Glad you are doing better I was asking Jan about you because I knew we had not heard from you.
