My T-Rex Conifer

I know most of you folks have seen this cultivar before. For the last 2 years it has developed into this weird form. Free range all the way.

Most visitors that tour my garden are immediacy are attracted to this weird form of Cumpressus glabra 'Raywoods Weeping'. As it continues to develop I am sure the look will be gone in a few years.

This is one conifer you either like or dislike. There is no middle ground. As Ken says..."The weirder the better" I concur.

Gotta love it. T-Rex to be sure, although, if its tail doesn't add more counterweight it may look like it's bending over to eat soon. You'll have to add a topiary rabbit at that time ;-).

Those guys seem to add free conifers to many orders. You'll get a nice buck from that 'Aurea' if you sell it on ebay since you already have a large specimen. That's a 25 dollar plus, tree. Have a great day, Dax

Hmmmm, might wanna hang on to that piece; maybe separate it and see if it'll stay yellow? Not trying to get your hopes up, Sandy, but how cool would a yellow/gold T-Rex sport be? Pretty cool indeed. I'D buy that version of T-Rex! Don B.

Ha! I like 'em both :)

They remind me of a picture of a dragon shaped Cedrus libani 'Glauca Pendula' (or something similar) I googled up once. Beautiful.

Wow that's very cool Dave! Excellent specimen and very unusual!

BTW, what is that very blue specimen growing directly behind the Cumpressus glabra? Love the color and branching of that as well.

Where did your photos go Dax?

Actually it is Cupressus glabra 'Blue Ice' that is behind 'Raywoods Weeping'.

The 'Blue Spire is behind and to the right of Picea o. 'Skytrails' in the first photo.
