I know just what you mean. I have moved and moved and moved. First, nothing would do but every coral bell known to the US. Then every crocosimia that is sold in the US, which is slim. Now I need a 12 step programt o get me away from daylilies.

The moving never ends with me... sigh...
lol Just when my SDB iris start getting going real good, I decide that I don't like them there because they need dividing too much, so I go and buy more tiarella's to take their place. Just when I thought I was done (and told my DH I was done too! lol)...

My problem will be during bloom time. I have about 20 that either melt, are too short, have never bloomed, never open correctly or spot, so they have to go. Every time I see one that has to go, I'm going to mark it for Fall and them bring some better ones in from another area to fill those in. That will be a project. Got to be done!

Well, this is my second year working at a garden center, and an employee who grabs plants right off the delivery truck pays only wholesale plus 10 percent, so they are enabling my gardening excess. One batch of daylilies was infested with aphids and my boss was giving them away - one blast of insecticidal soap did the trick.

Last year I practically bought one of everything, which is a recipe for garden disaster, but did have the advantage of learning how each plant does in my yard. In any event, to get back on topic, I also have a lot of moving around to do and giving away because the flower beds just aren't attractive. My new mantra is 'plant drifts, plant drifts'...

Its pouring rain today but tomorrow that last clump of ALL FIRED UP is going to have to move. I bought three 'Strawberry Seduction' Yarrow in nice pots to plant in that spot. Yes, I was at the nursery again even in the pouring rain.

This is a really nice one, thicker stronger stems than the usual and shorter too. So it doesn't flop. Supposed to have a longer bloom period also.

That entire section is going to look so good. It has all sorts of new additions this spring, three types of the hot colored non purple coneflowers, some fancy new type black eyed susans, blanket flowers, dwarf shasta daisies and now the yarrow.

Rita, watching you re-arrange your yard through your posts reminds me of an interior decorator who is constantly moving furniture and changing colors to suit the current mood. You are definitely an artist when it comes to plants!

I have spent several years concentrating on creating my gardens (my whole yard has been done from scratch) so my re-arranging has been fairly minimal. I finally feel like I am at my maximum in terms of garden area that I can keep under control, so have just started thinking about moving a few things here and there. I still have to get over the trepidation of digging up something that is happy where it is though.... what if it is unhappy in it's new home? I am trying such things in baby steps :)

This is very minor re-arranging :-)) Last years moving of the roses and daylilies, that was re-arraning. And this was not planned. But I had a tree come down in the front yard early in march. Much more sun now so a great opportunity to improve the garden. And honestly, it looks so much better without that tree here.

On the other hand you should see the inside of my house. No wait, better not. I don't want to blow my reputation for good taste. My idea of rearranging inside is to dust and vacume LOL! Neither of which I do very often.

I think the moving and rearranging is one of the fun parts of gardening!!! I also, don't do as much 'rearranging' inside either. Boy, if i worked at a garden center, I would be in real 'trouble' LOL. Hey Rita, I have also been at nurserys and garden centers in the midst of heavy downpours !!!! Was tempted to go today in the rain on my way home from work, but thought my first daylily might be open, so I had to 'fly' straight home !!!

I figgure if it's raining, I can not work in the garden so I might as well go to a nursery and buy more plants LOL!

And besides if one wants everything new to fit, things very often need re-arranging :-))

Seriously, while most of the daylily beds and sections were planed that way there are some places were daylilies were just stuck because I didn't know what else to do. Those are the places were I am concentrationg my re-arranging.

Very pretty.Is there anything on the little tower?I cant' see anything on it, but I like that tower. What a great place to plant Clematis.

I just planted two clemantis on that green tower. They were mail order ones that were cut back so now I have to wait for them to grow.

I think that it should be an unwritten rule somewhere that interiors of houses should never be mentioned in garden forums! Dusting? Vacuuming? Isn't that something that you do in the winter before the inlaws come over for the holidays?

I also agree with Cindy that a garden center is nothing but danger as a place of employment.....

I ripped out two Imperial Elegances and replanted elsewhere because they are EV's and look horrible in spring in the front bed! I replanted them though instead of trashing, because I absolutely hate to toss any plant!
I did replant two dormants in their place, two Dream Blues from Oakes.
This morning I also shovel pruned my SDB irises because they are WAY TOO crowded in my front beds. I will probably give some away. I replanted 3 tiarella's (Crow Feather) in their place.
Boy, it never ends! lol

Well, I am not trashing the daylilies, usually I just move them.

As far as these ALL FIRED UP daylilies, when I bought it I bought the standard two fans. But I bought others from the same vendor at the same time. When the orfer came there was enough ALL FIRED UP for five clumplets. I had not planned on that. So I thought on were I could make a mini row and that was the spot I came up with. Now that the tree out front has come down this March, more sun and I am fixing up more of that area. So the row of daylilies that were just a stick em here cause I had to find a spot, were going to leave for more of a variety of cottagey style in that garden section. I am relocating one of the clumps and the others are spoken for. I find its not very difficult to give daylilies away.

I'm still weeding! I had major surgery in Jan and got far behind. I know all of you have more energy than I so I can just watch you work!

Rita, I love it when you lose a tree and it looks better. We cut a couple last year and now I have a flower bed that really looks good. You have a talent for sure and I admire your work ( garden) ethic. I rarly dust and vaccumn, only when company is coming!!! LOL!!

You're a gardener. Gardeners have to garden. We are never content with the status quo. Got to be planting and doing. Expensive, but so much fun, and so worth it. Keep the pictures coming.

Taken today. The STRAWBERRY SEDUCTION yarrow really looks fabulous especially with the white daiseys next to it. These daiseys are the SNOWCAP dwarf Shastas I bought this spring.
