Anyone else struggling with Germander Speedwell?

Germander Speedwell is a very pretty, completely invasive plant. According to my Extension Office agent, the whole county is overrun with it. I can believe it. It has thoroughly overtaken my lawns and flower beds. Some of the perennials don't seem to mind, but I'm going to have to dig up the iris and free them from this tenacious, mat-making pest.
It's so hard to eradicate that I was tempted to give up last year. Of course, it's even worse this year.
I don't recall ever planting it, although I believe it's still sold as a garden plant. I wouldn't mind having a lawn of it (I'm not much of a lawn person, can you tell?), but I feel overwhelmed with its presence in with the flowers.
Anyone else?
Susan
