Don't divorce him yet! He may be worth keeping! My hubbie ran over several of mine last year with the bulldozer. Didn't do them in. The water company ran through a whole block of VOICES IN FOG with their 2 ton drilling truck. I was a little more than smoked about that! They did fine.

As long as he doesn't mow them again they should come back. You may want to go get some big metal tee posts and put around your plants if he's going through a blank moment of where your plants are and aren't. He'll have a hard time mowing over those puppies!

Thank you all so much for the reassurance. I feel a little better now... he may live another day! LOL And this is the first year that it has really taken off, too. I was just thinking to myself last week that I am going to have to, for the first time in my life, learn how to divide a daylily, and when I got home last night and saw what he'd done I about cried. So now that it's down to a nubbin, would this be a good time to dig it up and divide it or would that be too much stress ontop of what's already been done to it?

I would divide it now while it is short, you would have to trim it some anyway and it will then grow back and probably bloom.
