Some new blooms for me:

Romance snow crocus. Very tiny flowers. Personally, these are not one of my favorites.

Dasystemon Tarda Tulip

Puschkinia libanotica

Chionodoxa forbesii

These were from from Grandmothers farm. I would like to get more of these this fall.

Very pretty Shelley! Those are some wild looking stamen on those Turkestanica Tulips! Do ya think anyone would mind if I brought a shovel to your Grandmother's farm too?! ;^) Those Chionodoxa forbesii are really pretty!

We've finally had a nice rain for the past couple of days, so things are really growing now. Now the tulips just need a bit of sun to open up.

B, some of mine are 6-8 inches tall and some are between 12-18 inches tall. I just love them, and I love the cosmos sunset too. They are awesome seed producers too. Garden pics - the past couple of weeks

I wasn't going to mention any names......lol! Oh well, my boys have entered their garden into the kids competition, so I thought I may as well throw my hat into the ring as well. Well, here's a few pics from my yard. The Mock Orange has been smelling heavenly the last week or so, and I like the combo with the delphiniums. The Goat's Beard has been doing a fine job at camouflaging the unfinished deck.:) And here's my latest project, which just has a few holes here and there to fill in yet. Here's some closer shots of the island semp beds I made. (In the top left had corner of this first picture, you can see a scape on one of my daylily seedlings from last year!) It's amazing how little room you need for those semps.....I could easily fit in a couple dozen more.;0)

Nice blooms, Marcia :') My fave is Medail...do you remember what type it is or where you got it? Gil, I've had a couple lilies skip a year on me. When I planted pink tiger lilies they never cam up at all and I thought the bulbs had been bad but the nice lady at botanus said to give it a year and sure enough it came up and bloomed the next year. Giraffe A.L. put on a huge display its first year then skipped last year but came back up this year. Weird. Different years and both in different sun exposures so I'm not sure what I could have done differently.

Beth. There are weeds, believe me. I try, but I work about 50 hours a week also and the weeds get the best of me. One of the garden areas I finished last year is reinfested with pothos vines and others coming from the neighbors yard and yet I made my garden bigger. lol Thanks Sylvia and ill-mannered. Karalynn, the crinum is Crinum augustum 'Queen Emma' Katkin, If the third picture would have went over slightly, there's a stand of C. Coffee Cups there. I also have Mickey Mouse in another area of my garden. I generally have offsets of most of my EE's and others, is there something you are looking for? I generally don't trade by mail, but just had a nice visit with Judy and Evelyn from GW. It's fun trading that way and seeing others gardens. Featherhoof, I was thinking of trying German camomile also. Will have to get online and see what I can find. Tomncath, thanks. I have plenty, if you want some and are in the area. Happy Fl Gardener, That is Calathea Zebrina. Outside of collecting EE's, I collect Calatheas for ground cover. Most are not winter hardy here, but Zebrina is. This past winter, which was particularly harsh, knocked it into dormancy. But it came back just as big as it was last season. I can't say that for the others. I have to cover them and baby them through winter. Otherwise, they may not come back at all and if they do, they are small. So, I cannot say enough about this particular Calathea. Thanks Tina

The marsh marigolds are blooming. They're always so cheery looking.:)

Marcia, congrats on your peony buds. You definitely have to be patient with some peonies don't you? How's your tree peony doing? It seems that I've got a flower bud coming on one of mine! It's only been three years.......so I think it owes me a flower by now!lol

Shelley, I'm the same as you, I prefer when the tulips are more closed than wide open, except for the little species types.

Laurie, the tree peony had a lot of winterkill and is down to a short stick. I'm hoping it will come back. When yours blooms, give it a sniff - mine was not nicely scented at all and i'm wondering if they're all like that. Peonies usually smell so nice that it was a bit of a shock when i stuck my nose in that one! LOL

The tulip in the first picture is a Greigii tulip...with the red stripes on the leaves. I can't remember the name..as they were planted a few years ago.

The second pic shows Kaufmanniana 'fashion' in the back and Kaufmanniana 'ancilla' in the front.
