Which Conifer Would Be Rated the Most Adaptable?

Reading about the deodars in another post got me to thinking about this subject.

My initial candidate would be Eastern Red Cedar. Hardy heat and cold-resistant conifer(from Z3-9), lives in dry areas but also lives in wet areas (15 to 68" annual rainfall), soil pH from acidic to alkaline (4.7 to 8.0), any soil type from sandy to clay, etc. The most widely distributed conifer in North America.

Any other candidates?
