WANTED: Newbie.. Looking For Herb Seeds & Few Plant Seeds

Greetings.. live in a basement apartment.. and would like to grow some herbs.. I have a cat.. so this is going to be a bit tricky. But, I am determined.. a few of the herbs I'd like to try are..

mint

bay

thyme

Vervain

cinnamon

nutmeg

ginger

basil

fennel

marjoram

cloves

benzoin

rue

lemongrass

jasmine

bergamot

lavender

heather

I know this is quite a list.. and I certainly don't expect to get all of them.. my space is limited..

Hi Celtie and welcome to the world of gardening.
I have some of what you are looking for and some that you might be interested in. Let me know and we can make some arrangements.
Here is what I have:
Sweet basil
Dill
Oregano
I don't have any cat mint seed ( aka...cat nip )but that would be wonderful for your cat as well as a nice cup of tea. :0)

Hi Celtie, what are you using for lights? Herbs generally need a lot (ike a sunny windowsill, etc.). If you want to buy seeds, Google Richter's in Ont. - they have a huge catalogue!

Well, I just ordered 9 more varieties, so I'll have some of these for trade before long. I'm looking for a few peppers you can eat straight from the plant, a few that are extremely hot, and a few that would be good for making a hot sauce or salsa. Basically, I'm trying to get as many good varieties that I can. Since I'm a closet/balcony grower, I'd prefer only medium or small sized plants that would do well in containers. greetings.. you asked a good question Lucy.. I have microwave/convection oven at the end of my counter and it faces the window.. a good amount of light comes in thru there.. also, in the afternoon and on into the late afternoon, my bedroom window gets direct sunlight. So, between the 2 different directions of sunlight.. my plants would get a good 6 and more hours of sunlight.. I hope..
It's worth a try anyways.. And Penny.. thank you for your offer of seeds.. I love basil, and oregano and dill.. and also, I'm going to search Richter's, as suggested.. thank you..
