Got mine today too! Walked down the street to the mailbox in the snow and ice for it lol I saw carolinaflowerlover got seeds and i had to check!! SO many things, i really wanted from my list so thank you for the thoughtfulness put into this Sassy! And in my madness, i ripped alot of gifts open without putting names to them but thank you everyone for the gift ones too!! I started off with so little to try this year and I have so much to revitalize alot of the old gardens!! I can't wait to share pics with everyone later this year! Since I didn't really keep everything seperated to thank everyone individually for the gifts (i'm sorries :( ), here's some of my favorite things that I thought I wouldn't get or that I'm looking forward to trying the most: Lavender Hyssop....never really thought about it till i looked it up and it attracts bees and butterflies...well thats a keeper for sure! :) Docmom, i was looking at an old post about your malva and i was so impressed with the deep purple and i really wanted it so I saw you had it on your list and searched in vain yesterday, to find something to impress you lol well I guess someone heard my prayers on that one! Daylily! (poisondartfrog) - really didn't expect to get any daylily seeds to try this year and i can't wait. all i have is the wild orange ones and stella de orro lol Trumpet Lilies....love lilies! :) Zinnias! (yes i said zinnias!), again i was looking at old pics by people and i saw someone who had a bed of these and they looked so pretty! so i will attempt to make a bed of these, just as nice! lol so many more, in fact, i could probably keep listing all of them but really i am so happy with my seeds!! thank you and i hope this swap will take place again! :) Happy winter sowing everybody!! :) ~Michael

Unfortunately Sarah has had to drop out due to some unavoidable problems - she really wanted to come but it just isn't likely to be able to happen :-( I can still get to the mountain by taking the bus up, but I can't take as much up with me that way. Here's a thought if it's going to be just the three of us (Lakshmi, Chi and myself) - I could host a short little tea/lunch/snack thing and we could meet at my place (and my embarrassingly small garden!). I know Chi knows how to find me, and I assume it's as easy for him to get to my place as to the mountain. Lakshmi - If you only have time to zip in and out, it might still be easier for you to come by my place - there is a back alley with very little traffic and you can stop and load up on Chi's/my plants and drop off yours. That way you can have some of everything of mine that you want - I won't be limited by what I can carry (I even have some Monarda I can divide for you and I have some extra chives). So if this is good with you, I'll send you my address and directions on how to get here. If it isn't good, we'll go back to Plan A (the mountain). Those rose cuttings would be great and if 'Overdam' is your grass name, then it's not what I have and I'd like to try it. Your Shasta Daisies and Dahlias are interesting too. And if you're still offering that peony, I'll go out tomorrow and see what I have that's interesting and run it by you to see if you want it and think it's worth it. Chi - everything you wanted you can have - the Clematis, Belamcanda, and Iris pseudacorus. Was there anything else? I would like some of your Honeysuckle and Clematis cuttings. BP

Bad news - they just informed us at work today that there would be mandatory overtime all next week, including Saturday! So we have to reschedule again... I'm proposing the same day but later in the evening (maybe around 6:30 or 7:00?) to give me time to get back from work. Anyone who planned on attending please let me know if this is acceptable - if it doesn't work well for most of us, then we'll have to find another weekend for the exchange.

You are a bit late for most of Ontario. Most maples have by now shed all their leaves and they've been sent to the compost pile or municipal pick up. However, I do have a Norway Maple which is decidedly one of the late shedders, and I have few piles to shread tomorrow. I'll see if I can find any good ones among them. The squirrels also eat them voraciously at this time. Will be in touch to let you know.
