wow, it was really hot here today, but,I took pictures

I think it got to 94 today.really hot.It was windy, too, ( hot air) But I went out about sundown and took a few pictures. Heres a nice bright one.

Nice ones!! You have some on my wishlist. These Eyes, I love that one!! Hillbilly Heart, and that's a great twin shot!! Your Paperbutterfly looks so pretty, mine has scapes, can't wait. Cindy

Marcia---Yes, those banana plants are mine. Here is a picture I posted last July showing my newly planted 2 dozen blueberries. The bananas are behind them. The pummelo tree is to the left. Anna---I do feel so lucky to have my 2 acres. I just love to be out working in my yard. Sometimes I stay out there all day. coffeemom---I almost forgot to mention, you got me laughing! My husband isn't into gardening, but he will do the heavy work that I am not physically able to do myself. I leave the tree dropping to him. As for my powers, my powers are that he says that he benefits from the veggie garden. He will eat the vegetables but he won't eat any fruit except the oranges and pineapples. I would like to say peaches but the squirrels get them first. Tom---That's not my back yard--it's my front yard, near the street. My house is located toward the back of the property. My yard is designed backwards. I don't mind because it does help with privacy. Tom, I would love to trade cuttings. I can root the poinsettia for you first before mailing it. I realize that the plumeria doesn't need to be rooted first. Today I got some tree dahlia cuttings that I potted up. If you are interested in one of those, I can include that too. The mother plant I saw was 5-6 feet tall. It is a background plant for sure. Christine

Ronald: Yes, I have two seedling abiu trees. One has fruited one time, but I never got to tatse the fruit as we went away on vacation just before they were ready to be picked and they were gone when we returned. Here are some pictures I posted previously in another thread on this forum. Unforunately this bloom pictured, was only on one of the trees, and no fruit set. Actually, this particular tree has bloomed several times over the past few years (and multiple times per year) and has never set a fruit. I may have to take the chain saw out and let it rest by the trunk of the tree for a few days to see if that gets any rise out of the darn thing. There is a wide range of quality of fruit on Abiu, just like in Star Apple. How did your's compare?

Debra. I have a little short video of the bunny. Been trying to email it to my daughter in N.C. but I have not been able to do it yet, ,and a short video of hummingbirds eating at my feeder and cant sendthat to her either yet. I couldn't send emails after moving and going wthdifferent internet, until a lady came here and showed me how to send emails, now have to get her to show me how to send video;s I can see them, but can' mail them, will try to get a photo of the little bunny .The daughter asked me what else do they like to eat and I told her rabbit pellets from the feed store, so she plans to get it some fpr me to feed it.susan Weber has never rebloomed for me either until now and I;ve had it since 09.I am very impressed with it this year.

oh Thank you Julia. its the humidity here thats so horrible. an I dont have a lick of shade no where, so its just very hot. weather man said storms thie morning, but, we didnt gett any today. but, I was sure glad of it.I am sick of the storms and the rain.have to water alot when no rain. The daughter came and watered about noon for me and in just a few minutes, she was sweating and running in her eyes so she couldnt see. she says there, that will do them for a little while told her I thiank her and my daylilies thank her too for a drinkI will go out and give them some more when the sun is going down.

You really are getting lots of blooms! Nice ones too. I especially love Spacecoast Sunburst, it just seems to glow. Hillbilly Heart is really pretty too.

Did you mean SPACECOAST STARBURST? There is no such registered cultivar as SPACECOAST SUNBURST. But SPACECOAST STARBURST does have a vibrant throat and it does glow!
How exciting that you're getting some blooms this early - lucky girl!

Thank you for the beautiful photos. I especially like Paper Butterfly. And by the way, I think Spacecoast Sunburst is a better name for it than Spacecoast Starburst. Christine.

Love the Spacecoast series and Sunburst is gorgeous looking!

I have PAPER BUTTERFLY and am anxious for it to bloom. Love it!

Beautiful blooms Jean. Paper Butterfly is on my wish list. Love them all. It is hot here too. We got out early this morning to cut grass, but I broke the push mower and the trim work didn't get done.

Jean, I think PAPER BUTTERFLY is supposed to have pinched petals. THESE EYES at least starts out as a nice deep puple. I guess it couldn't take the heat.

Well, Didn't I make a huge mistake with the name of that gorgeous daylily..When FLOOTA asked if I meant STARBURST INSTEAD OF SPACECOAST SunBURST, I got up and went out to check on the true name of it.I guess it was soo hot out there,SUNBurst was on my mind.THANK YOU RITA and FLOOTA for telling me I made a m istake on the name of it..Its a nother very hot day, today, too.It seems much hotter then yesterday to me.The Humidity must be up today.

Thank you every one for the very nice comments on my not so g reat pictures.Sure hope every one don't start looking for a daylily named SUNBURST now,after I made such a m istake of giving it a wrong name. Don't know if I can correct it on my picture, but, maybe I can find a way,so I don't do this again..
Yes,I hate it that THESE EYES faded yesterday,as it was much darker purple when I first looked at it.It was just gorgeous, then later when I went out for pictures,it had gotten much lighter in color.I had several others blooming yesterday that I had not toook pictures of, but the sun just seemed to melt them and some seemed to shrink,so I didn't attempt pictures of them.
RITA, I see a few scapes coming on them seedlings now,so maybe we get to see what they going to look like too.
