What Can You Tell Me About Cap Yews and Dense Yews?

I was at our local Co-Op looking for a 6-8 ft. evergreen shrub for our front foundation landscaping. This area will only receive 1-2 hours of direct sun each day and only dappled sunlight throughout the Spring/Summer months. I had read on GW that Yews can take some shade. I happened to find two. One was labeled a Cap Yew and the other a Dense Yew. Of course, there were no additional tags and the workers there could tell me nothing as the normal nursery man had been laid off due to cutbacks. The Cap Yew seemed more upright/conical. Any info. would be appreciated. Also, if these will not work in this area, any suggestions of what might (excluding rhododendrums & azaleas, please). Thanks!
