I actually dont keep my list up to date at the moment, I wanted to know if the different varieties of violets are edible, I have jerusalem artichoke rhizomes i harvested this month plus sweet italian basil also harvested from my garden, the one you use for caprisi salads, yum, I'll email you a more detailed list. for medicinal and culinary herbs like white sage that one came from my school garden as well as vine plants like passiflora incarnata I am interested in your, Solomon's Seal - Polyonatum multiflorum, Skirret, Yarrow, Red, Basil 'Lettuce Leaf' (if the violet varieties are edible i would love some of those as well!) - Stephanie

By the way, the deer have started to damage the 7.5 foot tall net fence I installed. So far they haven't done anything inside the garden but I'm spending way too much time patching the fence. This winter I'm putting up wire and going all the way to 8 feet!!!

I recently got a package of Indian Hibiscus seed labeled Gongura which I believe is the Indian name for H. cannabinus. However the package indicated that these are H. sabdariffa, aka Roselle or Jamaican Sorrel. I know the latter's flower calyx are used to make teas, etc, but are they also suitable for use in the receipes using the steamed leaves? I planted some of the H. sabdariffa seed at the same time that I planted some Dwarf Burgundy okra seed and the small seedlings look almost identical except for the reddish color of the latter.
