It was like santa left a gift in my garage today. I did know it was coming, so I was ready.

All the daylilies looked fabulous. Whiskey is there on the right, he was curious at first, then seemed rather bored with it all!!

Then I turned around and had a good laugh. My patio looked like I was a kid and just opened all my Christmas presents and the wrapping paper was all over!! It sure did make me feel like a kid at Christmas. LOL Several of the daylilies were more than 5 fans!!

The Tall Bearded Iris are putting up tons and tons of buds!! The dwarf iris are in bloom now. This is What Again

This dwarf iris is Jive, here in the rain we got the other day. WE dodged the bullet on the snowfall, but it did get very cold. Hopefully, it will start to act more like springtime

The dwarfs all did so well, that I already put in an order for July planting. :) I am very anxious for the tall bearded iris to start blooming. I have many new ones that I haven't seen yet.

Oh, I should tell ya all, that the seller from the auction that I received all the daylilies from was abundantdaylilies. I have never been disappointed!!!

That Azalea of yours is just stunning. I love Azalea blooms. And the iris are pretty also.

I bet you really must have been thrilled with all those fabulous new daylilies. They look like they will be taking off right away growing like crazy. And you are so organized, getting them soaked and then already planted right away.

Cindy, You got some great plants. What fun for you. Your dwarfs are beautiful! Of course, so is your azalea as your yaard is always gorgeous.

We know that you have been cleaning up on the LA :-). Now that you have spots made for the ones coming, planting them shouldn't be too bad. By that time you will proably have bid on more and be ready to make a new bed. I should talk, two of my new roses expected in September arrived yesterday. I also have LA wins coming in September, expecially Westbournes and a bunch of stuff I bought from Judy Davisson including RUBY LIPSTICK.

Now. Back to it. After that nice nice thunderstorm, I did not have to water anything. And it cooled down to 78* very quickly. I was standing out on the stoop breathing in nice cooler air and smelling the fresh plant smells, when up pulls the UPS guy. No kidding, a really nice size box from Mason Hollow was there. That makes TWO deliveries of plants today, No...THREE....Naylor, Hornbaker, each three hosta, and then of course the BIG box from the ladies at Mason Hollow. Oh, you want to know what arrived? Emily Dickinson (fragrant) Gold Standard x2 (gold) August Moon x2 (gold) Halcyon (blue) Hoosier Harmony (fragrant and gold) Midas Touch (gold) Rich Uncle (gold?) Atom Smasher (gold squiggles) Silver Threads & Golden Needles (longest name ever!) They were out of Faithful Heart and Love Pat, so I may have ordered them elsewhere, don't recall now. Suffice it to say, my kitchen sink is full, these plants were massive like big bouquets, except for little Silver Threads...and Atom Smasher, the smallest of the three. Won't be cooking dinner tonight. Warm things up in the m/wave. I did not get a chance to remark earlier before the storm that Miss Saigon, Royal Flush, and Yin from Hornbaker were also quite bushy too. The three from Naylor were in good shape as usual, Journey's End, Dark Shadows, and Sugar Daddy. If there is a problem with Sugar Daddy, it isn't apparent at this time. It looks perfectly normal to me. Who knows....it might perform beautifully, but I'm not expecting it after what I heard about it already. You'd think that with this heat and humidity all the way from the Canadian border to south Alabama, the plants would be cooked. Not so. I think I remember BKay asking about that somewhere, but now I cannot find it to respond directly. No, things are being shipped with precision, and I think the USPS is doing an outstanding job of it. While Mason Hollow did ship via UPS, they used USPS last time I'm almost sure. It was a big box, that might have been the reason. But unless some nursery makes me a deal I cannot refuse, this is it for me this season. Oh, I still have Green Mountain order to arrive, but I'll be ready for it NEXT week. Oh yeah, and AA Hosta as well. Gee, I was right to go buy a 8 bags of potting mix and about 50 pots of varying sizes. And about 8 bags of pine bark mulch for starters. It's going to look wonderful when spring comes. Oh, I love those gold hosta! If I put any in the ground later, it will start with the Honeybells, August Moon, Gold Standards, the workhorses. And maybe the giants on the back row When it dries out, I've gotta kill some weeds, haul in a berm of pine bark, and relocate the hosta--again. At least all I have to do now is drag pots around. No digging up and replanting. So many options, so little endurance.

Of course! IMO, word of mouth is the best way to spread the word about reputable sellers (or less favorable experiences). I've had both and always appreciate feedback from others. In wandering around the web, I stumbled across this site http://sphaeroidinstitute.com. This list is a few months old, so wasn't sure what may be available, and emailed the seller inquiring about my selections after perusing the list and creative descriptions. No pictures, though. I asked, but this guy is more old school - including payment method. No PayPal or online payment option. Strictly check or money order. He's very trusting though. He mailed my package (USPS Priority) the same day I put the check in the mail. Without even waiting for the check to clear. I mean, who does that anymore? No one in my experience. He's in Vista, California and I'm in San Diego so I received it very quickly. In regards to bang for the buck, I feel like I got more plant than I paid for and need to contact him asking if he undercharged me. I was expecting the Lithops and H. Cooperi (my 1st choice in that was gone but he offered a better option for the same price so I let him pick one out for me). He said the black H. Scabra was gone though and offered me a cutting of a black clone for free. Those 2 clearly aren't cuttings. Good luck, Tyler

Gorgeous Azalea! Look at all the fans! No wonder Whiskey acted bored, he probably got tired checking all those out. They look really nice. I need to go see just what you got, I'm not familiar with most of them.
Congratulations, don't you just love getting new daylilies :) Be sure & show your iris as they bloom too, I love iris. The dwarf iris are really cute. What again is a rebloomer, right? A real bonus when they do rebloom.

Oh what is that spikey blue thing in front of the azalea? Please tell me it's a real plant and not a garden ornament so I don't feel silly. :)

WOW Cindy,That was a lot of work to get all them daylilies planted.They sure have some big roots, too, ao they should really take off now.Very nice looking plants, that red asalea is really bright and pretty..I need me another garden helper.I miss Ms Blackie in the garden with me helping me,(and posing for pictures,too) The tiger cat I fed for several weeks has not been around for about 3 weeks now,guess he found a new place to get fed at, where other cats was around.

That's a load of planting! I've always received huge fans from that seller, too. I hope you get some blooms this year so I can see what you added, since I'm not familiar with a lot of your additions.

I can see from your allium that we get the same gardening catalog. I almost ordered them myself. :)

Loved all you pictures, including the paper bag clutter. Love the iris and the allium and your enthusiasm. Abundant Daylilies is a great seller. I would love to know where you ordered the allium.

Thanks all, and the spikey blue things are metal alliums, and, they are from Gardeners Supply Company. I do love them. The dwarf iris What Again is a rebloomer! And I will post pics of my iris, I even noticed today, more buds!!
It took me about 4 hours to finish all the planting, but it helped greatly that the soil was prepared ahead of time.It worked out perfectly as we had plenty of rain today.

Cindy, those are some great looking daylilies. Abundant does send great looking plants. Looking forward to seeing bloom pictures of them. Beautiful azalea!
