Doing a Dance and Song!!

Well, today was a great day,even though it was very windy, I still gardened and got a lot done. Then I received an email this evening telling me that I won the AHS Region 2 Portal Contest, I can't believe it!!! I won Jamie Gossard's Aliens in the Gardens!!!! And I was outside today, trying to figure out how to get a few more daylilies in the gardens. I removed a few older perennials that I have a lot of and actually made room for 3 more daylilies, ( already have spots marked off for my auction wins, an order from Dan Hansen, and at least 6 more Hansons) I just can't believe that I won this!! It really made my day and I am singing and dancing. WOOHOO

Here are the red tulips, they are Red Riding Hood, a species tulip, that blooms early, they are shorter but they have lasted a very long time. plus I like the foliage.

Lovely shots of the garden and the red tulip closeup. But were is the picture of you dancing in the garden? You would think Bowie would lend his support to such a joyous ocasion but I don't see a picture of him dancing either :-))

Congrats on you daylily winnings. Isn't it nice to win something that you want? Squeeze those daylilies in somewhere.

Goodness, your daffs are so pretty,and I love them red Tulips.They are gorgeous.And I have took my time looking at every inch and I cant find BOwie either in your pictures.So, where was he, when pictures was being took.

We got that for our girls last Xmas. A huge hit at sleepovers and a great way to get them moving on dreary winter days. If you have more than one child, or they have lots of friends over, get two mats. There is a game mode where 2 people can go at once, but only with two mats. There's a pretty steep learning curve for younger kids (even steeper for adults though). The song variety is great and clean, too.

We dance almost every week. Anywhere from one night to 3 nights. We both love it, and it makes us feel very close. My husband is 83 and I am almost 70, I hope we keep dancing as long as we are alive. One of our favorite slow dances is "Look at Us" by Vince Gill, it was "our" song at our wedding dance. We were in Nashville a few years ago, one band was so good that us and 3 other couples followed them across the street where they played a second venue of the day. When they played that song, all 4 couple hit the floor and said that was "their" song.

I love, love, love your yard. Those blue muscari look great with all the yellow. I would love to see a pic of all our gardening friends. I try to imagine what everyone looks like, but prob. not nothing like the actual person. Sarah

You have such a wonderful place, you are so very fortunate. The garden is beautiful. I tried a very few of the species daffs, & am going to get more. Like you said, they are smaller but very cute.
