I planted mine last weekend! HURRAY! I got Jackmannii, Silver Moon, Belle Nantaise, Comtesse de Bouchaud.... I think. and maybe something else I forgot. :)

I got Rooguchi, Ashva, Kardnal Wyszynski, and Pink Champagne.

I had to go look at this Silver Star Vinery, a place unknown to me before. I have two clematis in my shopping cart THE PREDIDENT and NIOBE. Not sure yet if I am going to hit the order button or not yet.

I've been wanting to get a couple clematis.. just can't decide which ones or what I want them to climb... yet! I'm sure I will be getting one before the end of the year though. hehe

Kay, I had never heard of Silver Star Vinery until your post. I ended up with 6 clematis in my shopping cart and yes I did fill out the order form and hit the order button. So there will be more clematis joining the garden here.

I could not believe the selection. Just wonderful. I am replacing one I used to have years ago, THE PRESIDENT. Then I also choose ASAO, BEES JUBILEE, BOURBON EUIP018, NIOBE and RUUTEL. No I don't have the clematis crazies. These were just pretty and clematis are easy to find a place for being such light airey vines.

You said that I was often responsible for your spending money on garden plants :-)) I guess its time that you returned the favor :-)) This time its you responsible for my finding a great new vendor and some must haves.

I had never heard of Silver Star Vinery either, or the iris place you ordered from. I bookmarked both! Thank-you. I stopped buying clematis when we were in the drought. Three of my clematis survived and are growing this year. I love them, and hope that I can some day manage the Texensis which die on me every single time I plant them?

I have a few viticellas, but the huge flowers just stop me in my tracks. I am usually very good about pinching them back, and as long as you do that and allow the roots to catch up with the plant size, you don't usually get wilt.

So far, Huldine has not opened any buds, but I think it will soon. Niobe is the only one I have of the ones you ordered today.

I have gotten more bloom from clematis this year than ever before, and I always want more.

So help me, I am looking at English roses now. Ah me. I have no room for this foolishness. Yet. Let's see, Roses, floxgloves, delphiniums, clematis....

I do prefer the large flowered clematis myself and the ones I have are large flowered. I have 6 clematis.

Thank you for the tip on pinching them back to avaid wilt. I did not know that trick and have lost clematis to wilt before. A very good top to know.

I think you will be very happy to have found Silver Star Vinery. I have ordered from them in the past and the development of the roots on the plants that are sent is unbelievable!

I have always bought potted clematis plants locally because before this I had never seen a mail order source for clematis that I was pleased with. The plants were always too small in small pots. I like what I see with Silver Star Vinery. I am sure I will be happy when they arrive. The important thing is that the plants are ready to take off and grow.
