The most common causes are over/under-watering, too high a level of soluble salts in the soil (plasmolysis aka fertilizer burn), too much sun @ midday. The 'over-watering' issue could be from a collapsing or poor soil, even if you think you're not over-watering. When you're growing in a shallow pot, even a soil that supports only a half inch of perched water is unacceptable. If your pot is 3" deep and the bottom 1/2" of the soil is saturated, that is about 17% of the soil saturated - enough to root roots, impair root function, and cause the marginal or tip necrosis you inquire about. The trees are about 25' tall, some maybe taller. We had 3 snowstorms (in a 4 week timespan) that each was atleast 1 foot of snow from each storm, weeks of melting snow then rain..rain..rain. It's been fun. I think it is a reasonable question to suspect the weather having something to do with whatever is going on. Thanks everyone..oh and we had the pleasure of bag worms 2 years ago...imagine thirty 25' trees each full of bagworms. I am glad to hear someone post about some of the draw backs I thought of as I am considering faucets. I would much rather know what they are before I buy, than after to discover them after, and just about every faucets must have both pros and cons. Certain ones will just bother some people more than others. The idea of a button type control seems more convenient to me. I don't like the separate sprayer I have been using, just because you don't have a choice to leave it in spray, you have to have your hand on it the entire time to keep it running. I would like the OPTION of leaving it on spray for a while. But I agree, I think reverting back to stream automatically when done would be nice. Plus, I just don't see any advantages to a separate control, which requires a separate hole in the counter and another thing to clean around. Sue

2L containers are way too small for tomatoes. You should have at least 5 gallons per plant unless they're mini/super dwarf/patio tomatoes.
